In fairness, that wouldn’t be an entirely inaccurate way to describe Celebrini…I had a dream we won the 1st pick and picked someone I had never heard of. When I checked the boards he was described as “solid but unspectacular”…

I still think Celebrini will be the right pick for whoever gets 1st overall. I see him as more of a Nico Hischier type of first overall pick than a Jack Hughes, and that’s fine. Getting an average #1C at 1st overall is a pretty good outcome, and Celebrini would complement Smith pretty well.To be honest, everything I’ve read about him makes me fairly unexcited about winning 1st overall and picking him? That Demidov kid looks really exciting.
Would it be a core you can build a cup with?I still think Celebrini will be the right pick for whoever gets 1st overall. I guess if you ignore that Celebrini put up significantly better numbers in his D-1 year than Hirschier did in his draft year.I still think Celebrini will be the right pick for whoever gets 1st overall. I think Celebrini - Smith - Bystedt down the middle can be a core to win a cup. Obviously getting a top D and goaltending will be huge factors but if those are the 3 centers they complement each other well.Would it be a core you can build a cup with?
I think Celebrini is comparable to Hirschier as someone else posted. With Hughes playing a similar type of game as Smith.Put another way, if Celebrini is the best player on a team, are they a legitimate contender? What if he's the second best?
How would you compare Celebrini and Beniers? They seem so similar but I could be misremembering watching Beniers as a prospect. To me it almost seems like Celebrini is like Beniers 2.0. Slightly better version of him.In fairness, that wouldn’t be an entirely inaccurate way to describe Celebrini…
Yes the Devils can win the cup but it’s not just because of their Cs. Their defense is stacked if Hughes works out and their forward depth is terrifying. A lot of the predictions I’ve seen have their third line as Palat, Haula, Holtz. So basically a guy who would be a top 6 winger on most teams, a guy who put up about 0.5 PPG last season, and a former 4th overall pick. That’s while their top 6 has a top 10 player in the world, the next great defensive C, a 40 goal scorer, 2 other 30 goal scorers, and one of the better young complimentary forwards I’ve seen.I think Celebrini is comparable to Hirschier as someone else posted. Do you think the Devils can win the cup with those to C’s?
It’s hard to say that unless you have a true #1D in place. If you have a true #1D and a solid supporting cast, I think Celebrini and Smith is a Cup-contending center core, especially if Bystedt turns out as good as he’s current projecting.Would it be a core you can build a cup with?
I think Celebrini is a little more dynamic with the puck but doesn’t quite have the skating of Beniers. But overall, I think they’re comparable. How would you compare Celebrini and Beniers? Berniers put up exactly a ppg as a November birthday in his D-1 year. Celebrini had 1.72 ppg as a June birthday. How would you compare Celebrini and Beniers? He also is probably the favorite to win the Hobey Baker. It will be nice when the Sharks have the top 2 in voting with Smith and Celebrini.Berniers put up exactly a ppg as a November birthday in his D-1 year. Celebrini had 1.72 ppg as a June birthday.
Celebrini scores goal at a similar rate as Eiserman, is a great playmaker, and is a fantastic skater. Calling him "solid but unspectacular" when all he has done is produce at an elite pace is moronic.
Man chill. They have pretty comparable playstyles.Berniers put up exactly a ppg as a November birthday in his D-1 year. Celebrini had 1.72 ppg as a June birthday.

How would you compare Celebrini to Fantilli? In fairness, that wouldn’t be an entirely inaccurate way to describe Celebrini…
Celebrini is a tortellini to Fantilli's fettucciniHow would you compare Celebrini to Fantilli?
My fantasy was Celebrini this year, and Misa plus Eklund in 25, thanks to Pittsburgh.Let’s hope we can get Celebrini and Pittsburgh gets 11th place next year (though I will take them getting in the top 10 and then utterly collapsing the next year and winning the 1st overall for us).
I think Celebrini has the potential to be better, but Fantilli’s physical tools are nothing to scoff at. By that, I mean that at the same age Celebrini is definitely the better player, but Fantilli developed a ton in his draft year and he’s also 6’2” with a good frame and Celebrini will likely never have that. If Celebrini takes another big step this year then he’s the better prospect, but there’s no guarantee he will. I’m glad that he’s going to the NCAA, so we’ll be able to make that direct comparison (to a degree, as Celebrini is much younger in his draft year than Fantilli). How would you compare Celebrini to Fantilli?
Reading this it sounds like Fantilli is the safer prospect and with his frame and physical tools his floor is really high. Celebrini has a much higher ceiling than Fantilli but also has a lower floor.I think Celebrini has the potential to be better, but Fantilli’s physical tools are nothing to scoff at. I wouldn’t even say that, Celebrini is a really safe prospect too and I don’t think he has superstar potential either. They’re just a different style of players.Reading this it sounds like Fantilli is the safer prospect and with his frame and physical tools his floor is really high.
