Yeah it's crazy how he is able to not only get around players but somehow the puck is still on his stick at the end of those plays.

He looks a lot like Wyatt Johnston to me, and that's the scenario where he doesn't fill out much.

Yeah my only concern is that it works well against jr players, how well does it work against NHLers and how does he hold up (confidence wise) the first time he tries that and gets blown tf up. If he succeed at the next level he'd make a helluva duo with Fantilli. He seems to be that play driving type winger who would work well with him

I see the look but Sennecke has really good balance. You'll see him fighting to get around someone and he'll be leaning over in a scenario where most players would fall, and he manages to stay on his feet and keeps going.

#2 isn't allowed to go to the combine (no Russians), but will be available before the draft at an event hosted by Dan Milstein.

I hope that's their list, with Buium added that's my top 5.
I known we shown interest in Silayev and we haven't had a chance to have cards shown on the Russians yet due to their situation but at this point point feels like we are going with offensive option and this seems like the list with what we tilted our hand towards at this point. Also responded to wrong post haha.

Silayev could be in there too. The Russians are not there.
Could .. but the 2 players we took to dinner were large forwards that play with an edge , are fast etc.. seems like we are looking forward . Waddell has said over and over goal scorers are hard to find in interviews .. and honestly we have Werenski who’s 26, Jiricek, Svozil and Mateychuk all under 20, Boquist is 23 , and Severson is signed for 7 more years

Maybe it’s just me but it’s blowing my mind how many different players are being discussed here as options at 4. I mean really, if there’s such a breadth of quality options we should trade down, no?

But something tells me we aren’t really looking at all these prospects on the same tier.
What I suspect is that organizations will each have a guy they want, or will rank them, despite the fact they appear inseparable to us. And only if they are sure the guy they want will be there later will they pursue a trade back. I’d give that a 10% chance.

I want to see some Rick Nash draft type trade conditions. We’ll trade draft picks this year and in return we want the right to trade draft picks next year. Let’s really roll the dice.

Just got into watching some Sennecke. Sick hands and absolutely incredible balance control at times. Fun player all in all. Going to be interesting to see how his game evolves with a couple of seasons to adjust to his body and add strength. Might even have the size to add some power elements to compliment those hands.

Actually more my type of player than Lindstrom but I wont complain either way.

I find myself going back and forth, depending on the day, whether im in or out on Lindstrom. Today is one of those days that I'm in. Without the back injury concerns, I'd be in with no questions asked. But its such a big concern for me, even with him doing medicals and combine stuff.

The draft is such a mixed bag on who will be there and who we can pick, but here's what my list is right now:

Would be good with drafting (no order): Lindstrom, Buium, Demidov, Iginla

Would need some convincing/theres better options (no order): Dickinson, Levshunov, Yakemchuk, Sennecke, Helenius

No thanks: Parekh, Silayev,

With no back concerns, and if he finished the year like he started, I think Lindstrom would be up there right after Celebrini. And there wouldn't be any talk about where he'd go, we'd know it was top 2 and the talk would start with #3.

With Celebrini might be stretching it a bit, but I think he would very clearly be in the conversation for #2.

I actually think that the Draft will proceed as follows..

1. SJS - Celebrini (Quite Obvious)
2. CHI - Levshunov (Combine information says Lev is their guy)
3. ANA - Lindstrom (I think they will actually take Lindstrom. Verbeek loves guys with size and they fit well in Western Conference)

So we might actually have Demidov still available at 4. But do we pick him?

That would be nice. As long as we take Demidov and not Silayev.

I also think Lindstrom to Anaheim makes sense. Not because Anaheim needs forwards, they have a bigger need at RD, but I think Verbeek will not be able to pass on Lindstrom.

I think they would. Columbus has been one of the most present teams in Russia in terms of scouting lately. So the Russian and uncertainty factor would be relatively small for them. Also, it seems to me that Columbus, more than anything, need high-end potential and talent next to Fantilli. EliteProspects has said that Demidov has the highest offensive ceiling in the draft. Unless Columbus see some issues with him, I don't see how they don't take him then.

If I may go on a tangent, the most frustratingly inconsistent argument I've heard about why Columbus would not pick Demidov is Pronman saying that "well, they didn't even consider Michkov last year, so why would they consider Demidov now?" Remarkably uninformed when Columbus needed a centre, the top 3 in the draft were all centres and the beforehand consensus #2 in the draft was there at #3. And it is further aggravated by him consistently mocking Demidov to Montréal, who legitimately disregarded Michkov when he was the consensus BPA. Tangent over.

Personally, my mind is so set on Demidov being gone and Columbus taking Lindstrom that I would feel weirdly conflicted about Columbus taking Demidov, even though he's my #2.

I mean right after Celebrini, a clear #2, and the conversation would have been over by now.
My mistake, I misread "after" as "with." In that case, I agree.

As if Michkov's nationality was the only reason teams were cautious about him!

That is indeed a remarkably uninformed take by Pronman.

Also Michkov was kinda shopping around where he wanted to go. Everyone thought for sure he would drop to Washington but in the end he pretty much chose Philadelphia because of the city market and he didn't have to play under the shadow of Ovechkin during his entire career. Especially which is ironic because Montréal could have taken him too and solved forward issue last year but it wasn't used against them for some reason 🤔...Columbus always bad but Canadian teams get a pass because of their history.

Habs fan (lurking trying to find out what you are doing as it impacts us obviously at 5) - passing on Michkov is consistently brought up. Our fans were so mad that they treated Reinbacher horribly online and the org and fan base tried to damage control.

Even now, any draft coverage you find about the Habs at 5 have it constantly being brought up how they should have gone Michkov last year and taken a defenseman this year.

The discourse around Michkov in Habs land is so negative and annoying that part of the reason I'm hoping Demidov somehow gets to 5, is so we can pick him and that population of people will shut up about it lol.

What makes it even weirder is that Pronman himself consistently said that there were 2 players last year that he would take before Michkov - Bedard and Fantilli.

It's not that deep. He had to write something, anything, to make sure that Demidov fell to fifth for those sweet Montreal clicks.
To be fair, he didn't write that part, to my recollection. He did say it on The Athletic's podcast while motivating Columbus passing on Demidov in his very first mock draft, though. It was a poorly thought-out and irritating argument. In writing, I think he has mainly discussed Columbus choosing between skill and size and mentions that Demidov could be an option. Yet he has them consistently taking someone else. Hell, he has even had Columbus take Dickinson ahead of Demidov! I don't recall him writing out why clearly. So if the Michkov thing is his main reason for it, yikes.

I agree with him being a top 2 lock if he kept going. Which is why he’s still definitely in play regardless of the back potential problems. I would pick him

I will also be surprised if Demidov is the pick for Columbus because the average org height thing is a legit concern, but I also don't particularly care who they take (except reaching for a player they could trade down for). I can talk myself into pretty much any of the top ten or so prospects at four except a couple of the defensemen.

gotta admit, sennecke wasn't really on my radar. I was definitely aware that he was rising big time but hadn't really looked into him or watched much of him.

based on that EP video… yeah, I can see it. holy cow. kid checks all the boxes. I might be salivating a bit at the idea of him as Fantilli's long-term RW on the top line.

the jackets are guaranteed to have one of lindstrom, demidov or sennecke on the board at #4. really can't go wrong with any of those choices.

I think the "Russian factor " for Demidov is almost non existent imo. From all the reports he has absolutely 0 plans on re-signing in Russia, he's on the last year of his deal and has expressed his intent is to come over ASAP.

It's weird I almost find myself pulling for sennecke.

Can we make a move and get both? :sarcasm:

But in all seriousness, I'm glad I don't have to make the decision..
