McKenzie’s final rankings put them neck and neck…..glad we went with Slaf vs Wright and his 7 NHL pointsHow long before the draft last year did the betting odds start swinging heavily into Slaf's favor?

Actually, he probably did…..to throw everyone off……as Pacino once said, never let them see you comingSo you believe that Kent Hughes has let the local beat reporter in on the most carefully guarded organizational information????
Come on buddy, I don't know what is going on with you but you are smarter than this.
yep. I personally think they're list goes as such:
1. Lindstrom
2. Demidov
3. Levshunov
4. Buium
5. Sennecke
6. Parekh
7. Iginla
I'm pretty confident in the order of forwards, the dmen seem a lot harder to rank.
Better bring a bottle of Tequila too (just in case it goes sideways)I'm so bringing popcorn this Friday. What ever happens, I'm sure to see a meltdown in direct.
I'm so glad I don't get super attached to draftees. I just hope the Habs are taking one who isn't going to bust or wants to be traded.
Gut feeling top 15 2024 draft prediction:
1. San Jose - Macklin Celibrini
2. Chicago - Artyom Levshunov
3. Anaheim - Anton Silayev
4. Columbus - Cayden Lidstrom
5. Montreal - Tij Iginla
6. Utah - Ivan Demidov
7. Ottawa - Zeev Buium
8. Seattle - Sam Dickinson
9. Calgary - Berkly Catton
10. New Jersey - Carter Yakemchuk
11. Buffalo - Beckett Sennecke
12. Philadelphia - Cole Eiserman
13. Minnesota - Zayne Parekh
14. San Jose - Konsta Helenius
15. Detroit - Michael Hage
Feel free to applaud or shit on it.
Draft Kings has opened betting for the 4th and 5th picks now. Lindstrom is the heavy favorite for Columbus and Demidov leads the odds for Montreal with Lindstrom and Sennecke close behind. Interesting that ours odds of taking Silayev are higher than Buium.

The money line means more to me than any publicly available rankings. You'd be foolish to think there's not people in the know who are making a pretty penny off this. Also interesting that betting odds are uninteresting yet are being propped up as being interesting lol
The lines are dynamic and move according to the bets made by gamblers/fansThe money line means more to me than any publicly available rankings. You'd be foolish to think there's not people in the know who are making a pretty penny off this.

That's my point, you can guarantee info gets leaked which leads to large bets which alter the lines. The lines are dynamic and move according to the bets made by gamblers/fans
I'm one of the biggest pessimists when it comes to the Habs and their decision making but I think there is some overreaction here to the Arpon Basu article. He mentions multiple times that this is just a hypothetical scenario and he could have easily used a different set of forwards and defenceman for the same analysis. He also has the disclaimer early on that he truly doesn't know where the Canadiens stand on either Demidov or Buium, or who they would take in this scenario.
I'd take buium over guhle pretty easilyDemidov > Necas.
Guhle defensive ability > Buium.
It would be the wrong thing to do.
two different players, and Guhle is made for the playoffs.I'd take buium over guhle pretty easily
And they have every right to do so.Luckily this management team does not do things to please the fans... They will take the guy they think will help the team succeed.
I'd take buium over guhle pretty easily
I know they are different, doesn't change the fact I still prefer buium.two different players, and Guhle is made for the playoffs.
The first comparaisons between Buium and Hutson happened like early next year when Buium was showing offensive potential but he was also 5'10I just don't see any sensible similarity between Buium and Hutson, except for the fact they both are offensive Ds.
Hutson is an highlight reel machine. He's a waterbug out there and is more of a puck carrier than a pure puck mover. Which leaves me hesitant as to what his actual upside is in the show.
Buium is more of a quarterback and a puck mover. He's going to be using his teammates a lot more. He's very good at seeing patterns and using his teammates for give-and-gos both in the defensive and offensive zone. He's a bit smaller than I would prefer him to be but there's actual #1 D upside there.
I'd be really excited if we drafted him. I just don't see a lot of guys in our current D prospects pool who are going to be able to man a PP excluding Hutson anyway.
Mailloux might be there for his shot, but as far as puck distribution goes I just don't see it.
In a vacuum you could very well be right, I’ll concede that.I'd take buium over guhle pretty easily
