Not really. If his last name was Palmer instead of Iginla people would never think that he's gritty.

He doesn't actively look to avoid physical contacts but he's not a gritty power forward like the old man. At all.

If Tij was playing like Jarome he'd be a top 3 pick in this draft.
It should be noted that Jarome Iginla went 11th in his own draft.

We have to understand that as armchair scouts we won't get the info on the back injury, so if the Habs take him, they felt confident it isn't an issue.. if they pass on him, they either thought it was an issue or that the person they took instead was simply the better prospect.

I'm drooling at the thought of rolling into the playoffs with Dach-Slaf-Lindstrom in the top 6.
We’d be really hard to play against.

We just shouldn’t ever draft anyone. Just trade picks for guys that are currently healthy.

How is it close to anything I said ? if you think a player is in the same skill / potential contribution range as others but that he has injury history / concerns and not the others, you drop him behind the healthy guys, that s just logic.

I know dealing with reality or very real concerns can be a hard thing to do for some people…

Okay who exactly is equal to him? Are there a lot of near goal per game 6’4 centres available?

You made a quip about him being able to play 30 games. Why? Because he had his first injury of his career? That makes someone injury prone? I know dealing with reality is a hard thing for some people…

Depending on whom you ask but to me he is in the same range as Catton Helenius, below Demidov. You also have very good D prospects such as Buium Dickinson.

Any injury at junior level is and should be a concern. There are some reports saying he still have back pains. Every time I give an opinion on him it is based on the few things we know. You want him to be an elite 6‘4 center so you choose to ignore it, that is fine. But ignoring risks does not mean those risks are not real

Parity is inexistant in the W. Never seen it be that bad.

Were in the third round now, and the losing teams have won a combined total of 7 games. Of the twelve series completed so far, only one went to 6. Five went to 5. Blood bath.

Also with Lindstrom, you’d be getting a guy that is likely the clear 2nd overall pick if he didn’t hurt his hand. He’s a physical 6’4 centre that was on pace for 57 goals and close to 100 points.
I am not sure about that, he is not as good offensively as people claim he is, he has been playing with top offensive players like McKenna, Wiseblatt and Basha. Still very decent but his hands are not that great neither are his on ice awareness and playmaking ability. I love his skating, shot and physicality but I am not convinced he is a #1 center. I am worried he is another case of just a player that is too dominant to junior player because of his size but not good enough with the pro because he cannot dominate with his size like in junior.

You would pick Eiserman 1st?
No. I was kidding.

I know my Eiserman take at second is unpopular around here and was just making a joke.

And the usual caveat comes here: I’ll defer to the guys actually watching these players every day. I’ll be happy with whoever we take I’m sure.

If we did manage Cellebrini though, I think we’d actually see a path to the cup here. He would be a huge add.

Your assesment of Lindstrom is also very harsh I'd say. Not that I think he's a slam dunk 1C, but his hands aren't any worse than Slaf, lets say.

I feel good about adding Lindstrom because of what they've accomplished with Slaf's development this year. He seems like a guy who has the raw physical tools in place and if he develops properly, could really break out. If this was still the Bergevin era I'd probably be very hesitant on Lindstrom.

With three monsters in the top 6 (Slaf/Dach/Lindstrom), in the future you can feel better drafting the smaller skill guys who always drop a bit.

Speaking of Lindstrom, I keep hearing he is always injured. What type of injury has kept him sidelined most of this season?
I'm not sure about "always injured". Lindstrom had a surgery mid-season (wrist) and then he apparently hurt his back while training not long before coming back to play and only played a single playoff game.
