The question is who will be the better hockey player in the NHL.He may not be built like those two but he’s the better hockey player. It’s clear as day.

That's debatable and clearly hard to answer, nobody unless they have a crystal ball know that. The question is who will be the better hockey player in the NHL.
I believe Hughes comments were along the lines of "all things being equal" they would go with needs. If they think an LD like Buium/Dickinson/Silayev is miles ahead of any forwards or RD still left on their draft board, they'll go with the LD.We factually know that will not be the case after Hughes' comments
Lol. I certainly don't, but I'm hoping the scouting staff we have uses something other than a crystal ball. Hughes has said what they try to do is figure out who the best player is 5 years from now, not the best today. That's debatable and clearly hard to answer, nobody unless they have a crystal ball know that.
Why is it meaningful? Buium is 2 years younger than Hutson, he has at least 2 more years to do in the NCAA imho.I think we'd want to keep size in the rest our D. We'd be trading them both and going with Guhle Engstrom Xhekaj on LD
Buium Reinbacher Mailloux/Barron on RD
He's better than Lane Hutson right now I wouldn't worry too much about that.
Did Fantilli Is Cellbrini how about Cale Makar? Why is it meaningful? Buium is 2 years younger than Hutson, he has at least 2 more years to do in the NCAA imho.
he said if it looks like the best guy on their list would be at LD at their spot they would probably look to move up or downI believe Hughes comments were along the lines of "all things being equal" they would go with needs. Of this draft class only Celebrini is an exceptional talent. I like Buium a lot, but he's not on Makar's level.Did Fantilli Is Cellbrini how about Cale Makar?
The quality of the player will often dictate how long they spend in the NCAA.
For me he is good enough to spend one more year growing and can then make the jump straight to the NHL exactly like Cale Makar did.
Celebrini may be drafted into the NHL immediately Buium not until after next season.Of this draft class only Celebrini is an exceptional talent. I like Buium a lot, but he's not on Makar's level.
Reinbacher isn't even very good defensively, the hope is he can get there but right now he gets burnt a tonI don't see them being alike at all. Reinbacher's waaaaaaay better defensively.
Is he taking poor angles because of the ice size difference/faster game?Reinbacher isn't even very good defensively, the hope is he can get there but right now he gets burnt a ton
Concerns about guys getting behind him. I think he's good enough to sort it all out.Reinbacher isn't even very good defensively, the hope is he can get there but right now he gets burnt a ton
Simon snake Boisvert on:
Lindstrom
Iginla
Catton
Eiserman
He is exactly where I am.
Catton 5th overall
Then Iginla , Lindstrom later
He gives a lot of détails on each
Starting at 37.12 (French)
Catton is better than Iginla and way better than Lindstrom
He seemed to say he'd take Connely fifth here... I don't think so sir.
I haven't seen him in the top ten on any other list.He is Boisvert's pocket pick. He is on record on the podcast that he'd take Connelly 2nd OA.
Eiserman's so interesting. I've been watching clips of him and reading everything I can.I can't wait for the U18 rosters to get announced. Eiserman should get a good chance to climb the rankings again with guys like Catton and Lindstrom sidelined.
I haven't seen him in the top ten on any other list.
However, that could be entirely because of his off ice drama. I'd be curious to see where he'd rank on most lists without that baggage.
I've got that recorded on my DVR. I may go back and give that a listen again.Probably top 10 or on the bubble of a top 10 pick. He is ranked 11th in Bob's midseason ranking.
Maybe Boisvert should get an NHL team to hire him. Then he can move out if his parents’ basement and get his own place. Just saying. He seemed to say he'd take Connely fifth here... I don't think so sir.
Didn’t like reading that he allegedly got defensive when asked about his defensive play. If he’s satisfied with the level he’s currently playing at on that side of the puck, I’m not so sure he’ll be invested in turning it around.Eiserman's so interesting. I've been watching clips of him and reading everything I can.
To me, he's got the talent to be be a truly legit top scorer. But there's a lot of work that's going to have to go into his game. It all comes down to coachability with him. He's never going to be a Selke candidate but he has to round out his overall game better than it is now. He's not a dynamic puck carrier, not flashy... but he sits in the circle and - bang! - it's in the net.
I totally get why some people don't want anything to do with him. But to me, if you round out his game a little, he could be a lethal part of the attack. Everyone needs goals and that's what he provides. The best comparable I can think of is Brett Hull. An incomplete player but a guy who can score in bunches.
I actually don’t get why people don’t want to draft Eiserman at 5-9 if Lindstrom is taken before then. He’s been an elite goal scorer at every level, since he was 11. He’ll continue that in the NHL. And he’s big enough. His ability to score from anywhere inside the blue line is a phenomenon.Eiserman's so interesting. I've been watching clips of him and reading everything I can.

No because he had those issues this season in the NLA tooIs he taking poor angles because of the ice size difference/faster game?
At the end of the day drafting is hiring. If a candidate shows up with THAT WORK RESUME, you don’t hire them. Period. Some need to see that. It’s not just who has the best statsGreat.
But that doesn’t mean you have to draft an asshole bully. It doesn’t mean you have to draft a guy who wound up moving from team to team… shat in someone’s hockey bag and thought it would be funny to take a pic with a swazitka.
You want to say he’s young and shouldn’t be ‘canceled’? Okay. But he’s not owed anything either. No NHL team owes it to him to draft him. I sure as hell wouldn’t want him around my team. And I can tell you that if I acted like an asshole with my colleagues, then I’m not going to be working there very long.
You can blame youth for a stupid mistake. If it was just the swaztika thing then maybe it could be overlooked if he demonstrated that he was sorry. But this guy is a disaster wherever he’s gone.
Nobody owes him a career. If he’s going to be an asshole he shouldn’t be surprised if people treat him like one.
The Canadiens are building a good culture right now. They seem to be tight and I think everyone wants to maintain that momentum. MSL has told CC and Suzuki “It’s your house. Up to you how you want to build it.” I see no reason why we’d insert some jackass into the mix right now. It’s drama we don’t need and there’s no reason to go down that path.
