I think Michkov is equivalent to Demidov and it sounds like MBN could be equivalent to Leonard..
MBN? He's so far on my list, forget it. He's actually everywhere on every list. I don't see the comparison.

Demidov doesn't play the ice like Michkov does either. It's not the same kind of player?

Edit: Button has MBN at 27... Seems a comparison to Scherbak is probably better.

From what I've read, I've not seem them aside from highlights of Demidov..

MBN plays the game as not big, not small, physical player who has some skill and could be similar to Oshie, like Leonard who seems to throw the body a bit more than Oshie.

Demidov is in the same tier of skill as Michkov, but might be a little less, but brings more of an all-around game

That's my view/understanding.

Makes sense, not sure Levshunov or Parekh are equivalent dmen to Reinbacher. But if you go down that reasoning, Leonard and Mitchkov don't exactly have equivalent picks anywhere in this draft either.

Demidov, Catton, Eiserman are all similar to Michkov.

Iginla and MBN are similar to Leonard.

The other part is that a winger isn't as valuable as a right shot defenseman.

MBN will be higher on NHL team lists than he will be on amateur scouting lists. I would not be surprised to see him picked in the top 10

Wasn't impressed on my first pass. IIRC I ended up with him around 15. Button may have him low at 27, but then again, McKeen has him 16, McKenzie 20.

He's not the equivalent. Maybe Iginla yes, but he's very young, and very green. No gold medal games...

If Michkov is that 100 foot pure sniper player, then only Eiserman would compare. Catton is playing Center and Demidov is playing pee wees.

Trying to abstract that, Demidov looks more like a play maker.

Way they were talking on sick Podcast tonight it's going to be Cole Eiserman. He's going to BU and Habs brass were impressed with way Jay Pandolfo developed Hutson. They say he can turn Eiserman into one of best players in draft.

We definitely need goals.

Would have been fun to have watched Eiserman on a PP with Lane and Macklin but both are graduating. At least it’s a good opportunity for Cole to be the focal point of that offence.

Looking forward I think the 2025 draft is really weak with elite talent at the top end but has pretty good depth overall. There's only 3 real standout players IMO, I have it 1. Hagens 2. Martone 3. Misa

2026 looks like the next draft with a superstar as McKenna clears all of them easily

If Habs grab him, that's a fantastic pick. He have high offensive potential. Become more effective, that can develop with times. Eiserman is on my wishlisht same with Catton and Iginla at forward group.

MBN has a better shot than Leonard, bigger, i’d say more of a pest.

Ive been watching some more Demidov and the kid is really good, hopefully the Habs considere him, I thought he had more flaws to his game, but no, the kid is alright, probably the 2nd best talent in the draft after Celebrini, but a kid like Lindstrom provides alot with his physical tools and talent too.

I would rank the fowards as follow:

1-Celebrini
2-Lindstrom
3-Demidov
4-Helenius
5-Iginla
6-Catton

Helenius intrigue me. What your comparable at NHL level for him? I think Catton and Iginla have higher offensive potential than him at NHL level. Helenius seem more better at defensive zone and become more two-way guy right?

I really hope they keep the Winnipeg pick and draft with it or use other picks to go up a little if needed.

Yegor Surin is their type of player, i hope he’s someone they are considering and someone they like. He could go higher on draft day, though.

If we win the lottery, the Montreal Canadiens may have multiple Cups in the relatively near future. This would officailly have us stacked at both defence and forward for years to come with a very promising looking future in net as well.

Suzuki has graduated to a legitimate #1 center and Dach has every bit of ability to reach and even exceed Suzuki's status. Adding Celebrini would just be gross. If we get him, I would start him as the 3rd line center but eventually move him up with Suzuki and Slaf where they could form a dominant shutdown line that crushes the opponents top line like the Bergeron, Marchand, Pastrnak line did and like the Barkov, Reinhart, Verhaege/Tarasenko line are currently doing. Caufield and Dach and Roy would be more of an exploitation line due to Suzuki's line drawing the opposition top D pairing.

Sorry.....fantasizing out loud but if we win the lottery it will be a huge turning point for this franchise where I believe that we would be serious cup contenders in 3 years from now.

Don't think you play Celebrini on the 3rd line at all, I think he replaces Caufield on LW of the first line and PP.

He will become the first center the year after, and we are contending at that point.

Caufield - Celebrini - Dach
Roy - Suzuki - Slaf

*The faster Newhook is a 3rd liner, the better.
