My top 6 for the Habs:

1-Celebrini
2-Lindstrom
3-Silayev
4-Demidov/Helenius
5-Helenius/Demidov
6-Zeev Buium

Still need to watch Demidov more, I watched a couple of vids that Montreal provided and in term of talent he is quite something, but I need to see how he reacts under tight checking and how he handles himself without the puck. There is also the risk factor, what if SKA convince him to sign a 3-4 yrs extension after the draft? Hughes would look quite bad.

I made the mistake of watching The Hockey Writers new mock draft on Youtube.

They had Demidov going 2nd and Lindstrom going 4th overall. It's giving me PTSD from last draft.

Is Demidov gonna be stuck in MHL again next season? If so, that would be a waste of a year.

One of Celebrini, Lindstrom, Demidov, Catton or Iginla will be our pick. Unless we trade it for a top 6 forward. If Cel, Lind and Demi go 1-2-3 and we draft 4 or 5, I could see us drop a few spots to draft Catton or Iginla.

Guys. Can you convince me that Lidstrom will be a better Nhl player than Berkly Catton.

Lindstrom's vision and IQ seems to be very average so for a center...it is not really good.

If the argument is only the size difference... i mean my late grand Mother who knew s...about hockey could have been a scout...

Martin St Louis had the best quote ever about size and scouting:

On Rds about 15 years ago when St Louis was in his early 30s and won already the Art Ross ....he was asked why the scouts missed him at the draft?

St Louis's answer:

The dumbs scouts came to see me at the Universiry of Vermont time and time again......until that I played a bad game...

On the other hand..they went seeing big tall players...until that they played a good one...

It's an interesting take. Big guys really get drafted high on the hope they can be those super impactful power forwards you win cups with. Small players can get underappreciated because of this.

However, teams that are too small or soft are a problem too, as we saw with Montreal for many years and as we are seeing with Toronto right now.

I think it makes sense to favor size and talent to talent alone, however talent will win out over size.

Lindstrom shows that potential to be a special player, but there are also very goods regiments to prefer a smaller player that are thought to bring more of other elements as Catton or, imo, Helenius.

The good thing is that we will have access to a good forward no matter where we pick.

Heard another bad story about Connelly tonight when he played for the Long Island Gulls 16U a couple of years ago. The kid sounds like a total d-bag Avoid.
I heard about the blocks and some kind of racist comment or something like that on the ice , is there more to it then those 2 things? While not defending his actions he could've been a dumb immature kid that didn't really understand the consequences for his actions and if he changed from 16-18 years old (from what I am reading about him) he could be worth taking a flyer on but if there are more cases of this behavior I'd pass instantly

The story I heard about him last night from the parent of a current 16U Long Island Gull player suggests that Connelly has some serious issues. I’m not going to say what it was as I don’t want to expose HF Boards to possible defamation accusations but if I told you, you would not want the Habs to go anywhere near the kid. Nothing criminal but really screwed up stuff.

In the MHL, Demidov looks like a smaller, better defensively, Kovalev. I just don't have the ability to picture him in the KHL let alone NHL.

You notice how a big part of his game is attacking the net. This is not a perimeter player, which is great. Now Kovalev used to go to all the areas of the ice and would often use his size to carry guys on his back or ram himself through a space. Demidov doesn't have the physique to do that, just wondering how much that will impact his game, or whether his ability to cut in and out will make up for it.

He looked real good in the KHL pre-season around september.
