Any chance to grab Koivu's son with the Avs 2nd or our 3rd?

Lindstrom/Demidov is where the $$$$ at ... can't fathom Ottawa or Buffalo won't pass us before season's end... if we're lucky Columbus but its looking unlikely....and Arizona's been steadily dropping after a decent start to their seasons.

From the Lebrun podcast.

After their first scout meeting (after the Hlinka) their scouting staff wasn't particularly enamored with the class overall.

However, they just had their mid-term meeting and he felt a big shift in the room. A lot of names that weren't high up early in the year that have come up in conversation.

So definitely can see guys like Lindstrom, Iginla being those names.

I have a feeling we are going to draft Iginla. He has been rising up the charts really well and seems to be a great fit for us.

Lindstrom is not going to be available to us unless we either lose pretty much every game for the rest of the year or win one of the lotteries. It's the same pie in the sky wishful thinking we were all doing last year about Leo Carlsson.

Those players don't fall to where we will most likely be picking.

Yup, Demidov as well...The 2 players we want won't be available for us.
Gotta start thinking about Iginla, Catton and Helenius...

With our Winnipeg pick, I wonder if we target a potential 3C, or potentially trade the pick+ for a young NHL ready 3C. We are pretty thin there at the moment. All our eggs are in the Beck basket. Is there anyone in that 20-32 range that would fit the bill?

I wouldn't mind getting Dickinson or Parekh, it would just be a sign that we need to trade D for top 6.

Could we acquire better than Iginla, Catton or Helenius? I think yes, very much.

Hard to tell on where a lot of players end up but there's Boisvert, Luchanko, Mustard, Letourneau all around there. Maybe Iginla too.

And which of our defensemen are going to get you a top 6 forward?

Not to sound greedy but it's Celebrini or bust for me. Demidov/Lindstrom are nice players, but I'm not completely sold on them as top line players.
It's true that celebrini is pretty much a for sure elite no. 1 all around C that makes every team drool but tbh with the emergence of Slaf, he looks to be a future top line talent. You really only need a good top 6 F tbh. I'm more sold on demidov than Lindstrom but if Habs have a second line of Newhook-Dach-Demidov going forward, I'm very pleased

I'm thrilled that our top line is killing it, but we have to factor in how they are playing with zero pressure and teams know we aren't competitive so they don't usually play to their full potential (for example we face back up goalies). Having Celebrini next to Dach would help the team out significantly, not just because that line is good on its own, but the top line won't be the only concern for the opposing team.

I wouldn’t be mad if the habs end up with Iginla. In a scenario where Demidov is already taken. Catton should be the pick but maybe Iginla is more their type of player.

Simple, pick Helenius or Demidov from 5 to 10, 1 of them will definitely be available with the quality of dmen in this draft, we could easily see 3 dmen in the top 5.

Habs need game breaking forward talent, those 2 are the most likely to have that in that range (regardless of size and how they fit in our current roster, that can always be tinkered with later).

If Eiserman drops you trade the picks you banked up and run to the podium. The NTDP U18 roster is terrible this year.

Many don't believe LeBrun though. I said about him last year and Anderson trade rumours, posters on this board said LeBrun full of crap
