You know they'd like him, the question is do they like him enough to take him over one of the more offensively skilled players who will no doubt be on the board for them
Well if they pick top 5 I doubt it. But I think they will be in the 8-12 region.

It's a difference between drafting size + talent like Slaf. Like trading for Dach. Like hoping to draft Lindstrom than trade for player like Dwight King and draft Michael McCarron lol.
Slaf was 1st overall. Cannot compare to McCarron who was a late 1st round pick.

Dach, I almost forgot he existed. Been injured 75% of the time last 2 seasons combined. Big deal if he is big and skilled, he rarely plays.
Lindstrom is a mystery, guy is still in junior. I am sure people said nice things about KK his draft year. Also injured right now... would fit in well with other injury prone players.

Not sure why we assume that Habs brass values size or 2-way play over skill. Slaf pick? He had arguably the highest upside in the draft. Reinbacher pick? Everything we've heard points to the fact that they just LOVED him, and weren't high on Michkov. Factor in Hutson, Mesar, Beck, Newhook...

Ideally I think they want both skill & size, and willingness to play defensively, but not to the extent of passing on skill entirely. For instance, I don't think they'll like Eiserman, but Catton is right up their alley.

Not sure where it comes from either. Mesar, Hutson, Konyushkov dont scream "two-way" over skill.

Lots of movement from his November list. Except for Celebrini and Silayev which I guess will be our #1 and #2 at the draft, but after that it's a free-for-all with the Ds having an edge...

I'm more of a 6-9 range believer.
Even in this slightly lower range, we should be able to secure a future core player. Such is the depth of the top ten in this draft. I find little difference, value-wise, in the top ten after Celebrini.

Talk of trading our 1OA pick in this upcoming draft is positive folly.

They won't.

Unless they get an offer they can't refuse. And Zegras is not it.

Is this a rule? So we shouldnt post things from the Athletic? Im actually curious because its posted often.

it's always been a rule at HF. think about it, how could a company support stealing? They can be sued for copyright.
