I like both Demidov and Levshunov but I think Demidov makes more sense. Hawks can get RD later in the draft. Maybe move up to the back of the 1st round and nab 2 with 18 and a late 1st.

Hawks need high end forwards more than D.

I am also high on Vlasic, EDM and Rinzel.
I could definitely get behind something like Demidov, Jiricek, and trade up for E.J. Emery or Dominik Badinka in the late 1st. I’m really liking Rinzel’s game and think he has a chance to be a top pairing RD.

I would take EJ Emery before Jiricek. Emery might develop best defensive dman from this years class after all is said and done.
I see some K’Andre Miller in Emery. I don’t think he’ll ever be as good offensively as Miller is, but I think he’ll be better defensively. I’d be ok with him at 18 but would prefer him in the 25-32 range.

Hawks would get Scott Wheeler's top 3 skaters in Mustard, Spellacy, and Emery along with an honorable mention in Vuollet. A line of Mustard, Moore, and Spellacy would be insane

for those of you want AL, 1/3 of his goals are empty nets. most of his assists are shots on goal that some one cleans up on PP and or 2nd assists. of his points how many were 5 V 5 and primary assists. my guess is less then 1/2. empty nets are not 5 V 5. he looks solid but I dont see a #1 and maybe not even top pairing. if his off is his calling card these highlights are under whelming.

I like Emery but 18 would be too early for me.

He won't be picked at #2... and there's a "but" after 2 and I'm not quite sure what to type.

In the Frozen Four semifinal, he played him 31 minutes against Macklin Celebrini and the Boston University Terriers. In the final, he played him more than 29 minutes against the No. 1-ranked Boston College Eagles.
“I thought he was the best player on the ice,” Celebrini said of BU’s meeting with Denver. “It has been really cool to see that. … He’s gotten taller, he’s gotten bigger, he’s gotten smoother, faster. The one thing that really impressed me was his ability to really control the game. He kind of controlled the pace of play every time he was out there and not a lot happened when he was on the ice. He’s able to shut plays down.”

Ryan Leonard, who was on the wrong side of the final with BC, called him “dominant.”

Button has a new list...

In what everyone is calling a defensemen heavy draft, he seems to like the forwards more. Kind of odd but he seems to go against the norm most of the time.

1. Celebrini
2. Demidov
3. Iginla
4. Buium
5. Eiserman
6. Helenius
7. Parekh
8. Levshunov
9. Lindstrom
10. Dickinson
11. Sennecke
12. Silayev
13. Parascak
14. Catton
15. Yakemchuk
16. Emery
17. MBN
18. Luchanko
19. Jiricek
20. Solberg
21. Hage
22. Miettinen
23. Greentree
24. Chernyshov
25. Boisvert
26. Hutson
27. Connelly
28. Beaudoin
29. Wallenius
30. Basha
31. Surin
32. Ritchie

Can't wait for Bob's list.

Im not usually a Button fan, but I tend to agree that there are a lot of defensive prospects this year getting talked about but I massively prefer the forwards.
It feels like the D prospects are mostly just a bunch of meh that end up as solid #3s or #4s, and not actual top pairing guys. Whereas the big forward names are much likelier to be top line guys, or top 6 at the very least.

I understand drafting Demidov and wanting to go RHD at 18, but selecting a potential top 6 forward instead like Chernyshov or Hage makes a ton of sense then maybe go with Badinka or Brunicke at 34

Buium has more highlight reel plays a game than Levshunov had all season

Not like we have realistic pieces to move in a trade that they would want. Our NHL roster doesn't have things to move that they would want and they didn't want a bunch of picks.
