The guy had 30 goals as a dman, what are you talking about lol? If anything he's the one with the highest ceiling but the most risk involved (except for maybe Parekh, but even then you could argue there's more upside to Yakemchuk's game due to Parekh's limited size and strength).

Guys Yakemchuk is almost a year older than everyone, so you gotta keep that in mind with his "high" numbers.
Alooott of the people who hated on pronman for disliking like all our picks are going to have to now reconcile with the fact he loves yakemchuk.

Also on a bad team. As one of the few good players on a bad team, he got a lot of ice time and opportunity. That affects the numbers (and PIM) as well.
I mean, it is a good sign he went hard on a bad team with no potential. Showing a willingness not to give up and ride out the year is good. Kid could definitely take that work ethic and make the 3rd pairing his floor at the NHL level. Question is where is his realistic landing point in the league.
Buffalo gets a steal with Helenius at 14. Pretty much a guaranteed top 6 forward with higher potential because of his elite IQ.
Could say the same for Dickinson at 11 and Buium at 12 too. Was a very deep top 14 this year.

So if the Sens were honestly considering trading down from 7 to take Cole Beaudoin, at what point do they look to trade for another 1st to take him in the late teens/early 20s?

They can talk extension with him now, they just can't finalize it until July 1st.
It's just so difficult to get teams to give up their 1st round picks on draft night.
