Perhaps scouts of nhl teams see something that fans don't.

The problem is that fans think that they know everything and they don't understand what the actual job is that Senators scouts have to do. Fans have this oversimplified view as if the scouts job is to take the most TALENTED player who will project to be a star, but the reality is that most Senators scouts are demonic entities that require negative emotions to feed off of, and the only way that they can create those negative emotions is to go off the board and select a player who they could have had at 15.

I’m guessing teams are prioritizing size on D especially after the last couple years the top 4 teams all had big mobile dmen .

Perhaps that’s why Parekh and Buium fell

See, this is a better post than Grieg plus a pick for Tanev that you made yesterday

If anyone is curious who we're going to take on day 2, check this out:

PIMs and toughness is #1 priority for this scouting staff. Overrules all other factors.
We're drafting Richard Kiel next. He doesn't play hockey and has been dead for 10 years, but he is big and mean.

This won't go over well, but maybe they were struck by how tissue soft the team was when they watched all year, and decided when guys are close, they're going for the one with an edge.

You have dozens of those guys left from the 2nd round on. You don't need to find grit at #7.

Yeah, but this is literally a new era. We have a new GM, we are building a new scouting staff. We have a new owner. This isn't the same Senators of the Melnyk era. Please let go and try to be a bit more trusting of the process. I trust Staios. He has a vision and I believe he knows what he's doing.
With the track record you can see why there’s no faith.

@bert offered to bet me everything he owns Buium would be gone in the top 6
I also said the next 12 could go any which way after 1. I also guaranteed Yakemchuk would go top 10. Sens should be trading chychrun and their 2nd for this pick to get Buium.
