Murphy finished with 79 pts ; Parekh already has 72 and is projected at 101. Saginaw has a very good team ; Although Parekh leads them in scoring , he isn't doing it alone. Can't really judge by pts. He is among the top U18 OHL D by pts/game in history. Not all of the players on that top 20 list made it. most did; but they are not all created equal.

Its definitely hard to know how they end up. . I am not making any predictions or pounding the table. He is intriguing as you say just the same. I am gong to try to watch him and a couple other D more. It takes a few viewings to see more situations and/or patterns.
Would Ryan Ellis be a good comparable to Parekh?

Would Ryan Ellis be a good comparable to Parekh?
I don't think so at this point. Ellis had a bomb and it got him a lot of goals . Probably played a bit more conservatively. I think Parekh is faster and more mobile. I'll have to watch Parekh more to offer comparable nhl players , which I generally do not like doing. His aggressive offensive style reminds me somewhat of Mintyukov while he was in the OHL.

if parekh had elite skating imo he would be gunning for 1 ovr. i mean he has gaudy point totals right now, imagine what they would be if he had elite skating.

but you can work on skating, so he might still be very raw as to his ultimate upside.

While it would be much more enjoyable to be watching The Sens play good hockey and win games for the next couple months, they'd have to go about 26-8 (by my basic math) to have a shot at the playoffs, and I really don't want to see the team just start winning to devalue our draft status.

I'm tired of this, as it has gone on each year, but if we aren't making th playoffs, lets get some good assets.

On the one hand i can totally relate. On the other hand i want pressure and expectations to start now.

I remember cheering for the tank in the Korchinski draft and then after all the elation, seeing it get traded away was tough.

But as much as i want a good pick, im having trouble cheering for the tank now. Not even sure ill say im ok if we tank. Im torn. But as they start showing they can win, even if we've seen this movie before, i want that development and confidence to establish itself more than a good pick i think.

It was on TSN but I missed it. How did he look?
He was good not great. Scored the 1st goal of the game. He set up a couple opportunities but they didn't cash.
BU lost in OT but had a large edge in play. A couple weird goals against and North Eastern beat them for the 2nd time in their last 2 meetings both in OT.

BPA - Best Prospect Available.

Ideally, the BPA ends up being an RD this team is lacking in the top-4.
There's three elite RD's that are all top 5 picks in a typical year. Dont over think it and take the one you have highest rated. Levshunov has the highest upside in the draft for me. Personally want Yakemchuk second and Parekh third.

This draft isn’t great and it’s another reason as to why going BPA is the only way to go
I dont know about that, the top 20 is really good and its high end in the most desirable position in hockey which is RD.

Long time away but do you guys think we should draft a forward or another Dmen?
RD its not even a question this team has its centers and wingers. They have 3 high end LD and Kleven.

Levshunov is an elite skater and has a bomb. His compete level and puck skills are also high end, he's just very raw in his decision making. But he was playing Jr in belarus two years ago, went USHL now is in the NCAA. He dominates older players physically at the college level, im surprised you dont love this player based on all the things you love to talk about.

I do love Lev, I would take him ahead of Parekh but Lev gonna go top 3 or top 5 most likely. Parekh will probably be available at our pick.

I would take Lev number 2, he would be perfect for our team. Maybe even worth it to take him over Celebrini for us.

But idk sorta pointless to get hyped for a guy we don't have a high chance at.

There is this little NHL thing called the Lottery; we might get lucky for a change instead of getting screwed. :)

yea if it happens great but not gonna hope for it.

also i watched some more recent Lev play and he seems to getting better. and I would take him over Celebrini if we drafted 1 ovr.

even if Celebrini becomes a better player the NHL is about team building and Lev would complete our team and we could probably play him next or the year after.

+ there's a pretty decent chance that Artyom actually becomes a better player than Macklin.

They are always bottom 5 and play themselves out in time for the draft lol.

Plus Martin actually has them playing good hockey.
Who are they catching exactly? None of the teams that are above them are bad except Montreal who finds a way to get points. With the sens goaltending I don't think they're moving much. They were lucky to beat Columbus and just got spanked by Anaheim and this teams about to lose 4 of its next 5. It's Murderers row on the road. This team is putrid on the road. I don't think they're picking any worse than 6th last unless they move down in the lottery again.

Going BPA and possibly other factors with our 1st pick , we may not pick an RD

Does anyone have any viewings of Charlie Elick and If we don't go RD with our top 1st round pick, How does he look for our 2nd 1st round pick? What's the likelyhood he is there at possibly 30+ overall? Where does he slot wrt RDs expected to be available at that spot.

He is a big Defensive RD with + skating that likes to hit and play physical ;. His offensive game is not as developed but there is some upside.

I didn't watch the Anaheim game so I'm still on the high of winning I guess.

But they also didn't have Sanderson or Zub. The team is dysfunctional without Zub let alone Sanderson. I'm thinking they can pass Buffalo, Montreal, Arizona and maybe even Washington who are cratering.

They were 8-2-2 or something before the loss and Martin hockey probably has them playing at .550.

Also I'm wondering if you see it but Lev sorta reminds me of Lidstrom.

Smart two way and mobile, great stick and reach, likes putting pucks on net. Steady and doesn't panic too much.

His number 5 and his similar skating posture only heighten it with his play style.
