I liked some smaller skilled players, like Stiga, but there's no question that the game is starting to tilt back towards some size again. Hemming should have the power aspect to his game that is gaining value in today's NHL.

His idol is Selanne, he's never learning how to defend. Luckily that's why we have defensemen

His skating has already improved and I would hope motivation to improve defensively comes with the acknowledgement that he wants the NHL and he won't get there without a 200 ft game.

There was a few of that mould of D available (Emery, Elick, Danford) that have very little offensive projection. Like, Tristan Bertucci tools with less offensive potential.
