optimism? how dare you!Well, if this preseason is any indication that Detroit has learned their system and are executing well I think we should be looking more at who is realgud in the #14-20 range rather than the kids in #7 to 13 range.

#32. Reimer leads the Wings to a Cup and Pride Parade!optimism? how dare you!
We got 2 players out of first round , one is center and another defansman who plays like forward . Gibson and Cleveland was talking probably because he didn't like anyone else, but I agree with you I would prefer someone else in the second round.Detroit went against consensus in 2018 and got Zadina and Veleno instead of any 8 other defensemen from that draft that are full time players better than Veleno and Zadina.
Sometimes it's idiotic to go against consensus. And I'd bet dollars to rubles that Gibson and Cleveland play fewer NHL games than any of the 10 or 15 2nd round forwards fans on this board were clamoring for. Or that ASP won't be as impactful as many of the forwards drafted after him.
im ready to take you up on this bet. *checks exchange rate* yup, put me down for a million!Detroit went against consensus in 2018 and got Zadina and Veleno instead of any 8 other defensemen from that draft that are full time players better than Veleno and Zadina.

Such that we can scream on Chicago "Zetter is better"?Alexander Zetterberg.
Mark it.
Check out his overager teammate Vasili Atanasov. Kid is lighting the KHL up. Well rounded game from what I've been hearing.I have not been following the draft at all like I usually do.
There’s a kid putting up .5 ppg in the KHL in his draft year I haven’t heard of til today:

I don’t believe he is draft eligible anymore, per the prospect forum.Check out his overager teammate Vasili Atanasov. Kid is lighting the KHL up. Well rounded game from what I've been hearing.
95snipes wrote a good write-up on him in his thread on the prospect forum.Anyone have eyes/reports on Matvei Gridin?
He is playing under Larionov, he likes to give kids to play top minutes. Saw kid maybe 10 minutes one game . He was on the first line, I believe he is excellent skater with good hockey IQ. That team also has 17 years old defansman, big and excellent skaterI have not been following the draft at all like I usually do.

People on the prospects board said he doesn't have a great hockey IQ. On paper he sounds good though.Any thoughts on Cayden Lindstrom? Kid is 6’5, 205 putting up a ppg+ in the Dub.
Nah dude. With an N in that name it never turns out well...People on the prospects board said he doesn't have a great hockey IQ. On paper he sounds good though.
KHL level is so down, when almost all the foreigners refused to sign there.
Seems to be that many U18 kids fill those depleted rosters, and can break some records, when the quality of competition has crashed down.
