Have not been able to watch much of the Hlinka, but Berkly Catton and Ryder Ritchie are two guys I have seen a little of and am interested in learning more about.

Not sure on that Cleveland/Phelan next year, too early to see who is looking that unimpressive.

They don't track hits stats in juniors, so hard to figure out. It's all about hits/60 with low ice time and no puck skills. Bonus if they're tall.

It could wind up being Fischer, lol.

I was encouraged we went to the WHL with our top pick this year, I think that league has been putting out a ton of talent. Believe Wallin is based on there and Draper has said has watched Danielson for multiple years.

Fischer’s son can play. He was a high pick in the USHL draft. Got a decent amount of play in the OHL last year for being super young.

This should be a good defenseman draft.

Oddly, I would have been happier if Draper had gone NDTP with #17 (Moore), and WHL with the second round pick (Dragicevic).

6'3" center? 1st round pick for sure, since he played for Little Caesars.

Edit: He's got some gaudy stats with LC (over 2 PPG), but then again it's U15 and even Kienan was over 1 PPG. Gonna look at his stats next season for sure, but 6'3" at 15 gives a player a HUGE advantage (no pun intended). (Jan birthday so he's 16 now)

For sure. I had high hopes, he was actually starting to show some offense when his career came to a sudden end. He must've been real popular in the locker room, Kenny gave him a front office job right away.

His son might still be growing, 6'3" at 16. Quite frankly, it wouldn't bother me if he is the "nepotism" pick, better than Cleveland who's not even related to anyone. I find Horcoff's kid more interesting but that's yet another year away, and might not even be available when the Wings pick.

I know it's too early to ask this, but I'll ask it anyway...

Based on the strength of defense in the draft, if Detroit picked a premium RD (assuming they select #10 to #20 with their own pick or #14 to #24 with the Boston pick), is that defenseman from 2024's 1st more likely to make the roster before ASP?

I ask this because I personally think ASP's size and defensive play makes him more of a project.

Also, do you think there will be a defenseman with similar or greater potential at either of Detroit's picks? (whichever one isn't traded.)
