Gorton went to a few shows (in both languages) to explain the Demidov situation and articles were published in hockey outlets like THN saying stuff like *Demidov ice time was cut and that's a good thing, here's why;* and now Kent announce he's going over there.

What do you mean the contract situation wasn't the same ? Michkov expressed he wanted to leave and be in the NHL and he made it in the NHL in the same time frame as Demidov is supposed to be in the NHL. It's exactly the same reason and I love how stupid most people look in here.

They had control of Michkov for 3 more years. If they actually wanted him, they would have kept him, played him, and not worried about the contract for at least 2 years. This wasn't even CLOSE to the same contract situation as Demidov. SKA was aware that both players wanted to go to the NHL. Demidov is facing this treatment because he leaves literally months from now. Michkov was shipped off to a bottom feeder before they even thought to cut his ice time. Then they let him out of his contract (that still has TWO YEARS left) to go to the NHL. They don't want him, whereas they're making every possible effort to Demidov, who they clearly DO want.

You can sugarcoat it, justify it, wrap it up however you want, the fact remains SKA clearly valued one over the other.

Yet not a peep about San Jose.

Clearly teams did not get the memo that Michkov could get over early, and watching Demidov play for one year with SKA, I'd have massive concerns if he had two MORE.

I don't need to try to make Demidov look better, he so clearly is. SKA clearly agrees, and any rational person can see that, as well as their reasons why As for passing on Michkov, it may have been a bad call, but it's going to take far more than 16 months to determine that.

You're not, if you printed receipts you'd print your own and realize that we all make our fair share of good and bad reads.

No one disputed Michkovs talent. Once Carlsson and Fantilli were gone, there was no direct competition for Michkov on a talent level. So 3 organizations making the decision to pass means that there were other factors at play.

The factors as we go further along point to not wanting a top 6 pick developing in SKA for 3 years; and only Philly learning about his ability to get out of that contract early.

As more information comes out, are we not allowed to change how we view the situation? Or do we all have to get stuck with the calls we make, with the information we had at the time?

They loaned Michkov out two years in a row to Sochi, so Demidov has already played in more games with SKA in his career then Michkov who played in 13 games then 3 the next year and then 1 last season.
