That's my understanding, as well. He is still signed to the KHL. So Philly has to keep him in the NHL. If not, they need to send him back to the KHL.

Yes Demidov can't be loaned. I was mentioning the loan agreement for Michkov because even if he didn't stick in the NHL, his KHL club doesn't want to use him. Very weird dynamics there.
The big thing, is how did an 18 year old kid buy out 2 years?? I don’t know what salaries are like, but couldn’t that potentially be 100’s of thousands?

At the end of the year, I think yeah.. but I don't think they can recall him during the league season, kind of like if we send Kapanen back to the SHL, we can't recall him when he's got games to play in that league.

That is what I don't get about this. The guy is supposed to be the greatest thing ever (according to many frustrated Habs fans on this board), as good as Bedard, yet his team in an INFERIOR league would not play him at all.... why?? Not even try him??
If that is true the only reason to do that is he is such a cancer they just wanted him gone.

I'm almost more excited by the Trots-Michkov relationship than Mtl next season.
Laval has a chance of icing both Xhekaj brothers, Arseneau ,Mailloux ,Tuch , Struble, and Condotta at the start of the season.
Pretty safe environment for bringing in kids to play against men.
