I find Easton Cowan deserves a longer look myself.
He’s ranked pretty fairly, imo. The only guy ahead of him that I’d take him over is Connelly, which only slides him up 1 spot. Speaking of, Connelly being there is just weird, considering Hage had the same production in the same league last year, they are the same age, yet Connelly is ranked #24 and Hage is left off the list entirely. Hage is bigger, stronger, and faster than Connelly too, in addition to being more physical. Hage is also a center. Cristall at #49 is dumb too. Other than that, pretty fair list.

AI-made soviet propaganda poster of the Habs' "New Man". The f***in hockey stick hammer and sickle had me absolutely howling.

I assume you have an issue with Demidov at #1? Who would you have over him?
No issue at all - love seeing my teams prospect at 1 - why would you assume that?

It’s just I haven’t watched the 100+ prospects in contention for this list enough times including live viewings to have an informed opinion for a true ranking, just like that author.

Demidov is on the records as saying that he is comfortable playing at center. I think he has the skillset for it and should be considered at that position next year. With Dach's issues in the face off circle, staying healthy and how good he look on the wing, Montreal has no other option in their organization that has that potential beside perhaps possibly Hage. And before someone says it, no I don't think it would be another Drouin situation.

I don’t see a centre there. Let him thrive on the wing like a Kucherov/Kaprizov type. He doesn’t need to be thinking of defensive assignments and faceoffs. I just want pure offence.

That is a massive jump. Welcome to the toughest league in the world, and now we're expecting you to excel in the hardest position (?).

We're not competing for the cup next year, so how about we give Demidov some time to adjust and get comfortable? Besides, Kirby's injury will take time to get back to 100%, so I wouldn't write him off just yet.

One thing to keep in mind is that throughout his hockey career he's been so far above the talent level of the rest of the league that he'd be comfortable at any position. If they sent him back to the MHL and he played D he would be comfortable because his talent would trump any shortcomings and things would still work out.

For now there's no reason to force a move to center, but sure it's something that we could potentially look at down the road if it becomes a huge concern for the team but initially he should be put at wing.

Look at the impact Hutson is having, look at what Michkov is doing for Philly on their PP.. Demidov is the best drafted prospect not in the NHL, he would immediately be in our top 6 and would be finding a way to at least produce on the powerplay.

There’s a legitimate possibility he steps in next year and is immediately our best player, at least offensive production only.

To be fair he looked good the times he played there and unlike Michkov, Demidov actually comes back to support his D. Habs scouting staff seemed to also see the possibility from the draft video.

If him being at center gives us two good lines and optimizes Dach at RW, i'm all for it.

It's pretty rare/tough for a rookie to come into the NHL and be a PPG player for a whole season.
I think he’ll be started immediately in the Top-6. MSL probably as deference to vets will start him on the second line and the second PP. If he starts producing, the pressure to move him up will be crushing. MSL won’t be able to play games.

He’ll be the engine driving the team already next season.
