Love your avatar. The way the team has played the last 12 games, Chevy might need to be active early to try and salvage what looked like an epic season early on.

It was a joke referencing all the Habs fans on the main boards during the PLD threads who'd offer shit in a trade say "fine, we'll just wait until he's a UFA and sign him for nothing since he wants to play here anyway" when Jets fans turned them downI think that's a team that is about to hit the panic button. Would give them the chance to have Laine finish the year strong and everything about Laine seems like mental confidence, so you get your team headed in the right direction. They could wait it out but that give other teams a chance to give a better offer, and not an 8 year one.
If you're Chevy you're betting on two horses, either Montreal or Calgary to draft a player who wouldn't demand a trade.
And you have a later 1st round pick you can put on the table to make your next trade.
I would personally still have Tyrel Bauer, Dmitry Kuzmin, Toby Enstrom, Sergei Bautin, Jim Kyte, Peter Taglianetti and Mark Stuart ahead of "BIG" Logan Stanley, but to each their ownWould like the Jets to try something like this while Ehlers is out before we start trade talks. Perfetti should also be traded instead of Ehlers. Don't see Perfetti ever being a good top-6 player for a Cup contender. Perfetti has the two biggest flaws any NHLer could have: he's slow and soft.
Hopefully the Jets are able to resign Ehlers for whatever he wants.
Nino Scheifele Vilardi
Connor Lambert Namestnikov
Iafallo Lowry Appleton
Barron Kupari Perfetti
Morrissey Demelo
Fleury Pionk
Heinola Miller
When Ehlers and Samberg is back, something like this could work. If Lambert does well in his stint with Ehlers out, let him keep playing.

Why does Montreal trade for a rental? Maybe something like this happens if Ehlers is on board to re-sign with the Habs and it is part of the deal?I'll throw this one out for lamb chops. If you got closer to the deadline and it looked like Ehlers was going to walk at the end of the season would you trade him to Montreal for Kirby Dach, who looks like he has found the wrath of losing in Montreal, but has that size to go to the net that I think Arniel likes. And go for the lower of Montreal's picks top 5 protected, with a chance to draft Roger Mc Queen?
Is Ehlers really what MTL needs at this point in their rebuild though? Why does Montreal trade for a rental? Maybe something like this happens if Ehlers is on board to re-sign with the Habs and it is part of the deal?
Their GM is feeling the pressure, St. Louis is feeling the pressure. I'd be pretty confident banking on Ehlers-Laine to have a little magic, figure the centre would be Newhook. Changes the look of that team, and St. Louis can work with good skaters. I'm only talking this as a trade because Montreal would seem like the best vehicle to get a talented player like Mc Queen to replace Ehlers down the road. And if they have success from the trade there is still lots of time for Calgary to tank to get a top 10 pick that goes into the lottery. Justin Barron is the other guy who seems like he is on the way out in Montreal. I think Montreal would overpay Ehlers by a much wider margin than Chevy would at this point at that's where you can get teams into trades that have a long term advantage. Is Ehlers really what MTL needs at this point in their rebuild though?
Seems like they're already heavy on the "skilled but not physical top six guys" with Suzuki, Caufield, Laine, etc... they really need a 23 year old Adam Lowry or two

Just missing Tim Watters and Ted Green and that covers a lot of Jets history.Well that’s a hell of a post haha

The Atlanta equivalent of Peter Taglienetti would be Garnet Exelby who played some high school hockey in my hometown.Yeh I’m not that old and I’m from Atlanta hahahaha
Eric Boulton (who i played against growing up in the maritimes) was the face-puncher for the thrashers for a while tooThe Atlanta equivalent of Peter Taglienetti would be Garnet Exelby who played some high school hockey in my hometown.

Rangers recover 8 mil in cap space but did not get any better.
