Speculation: 2024/25 Trade Rumours, Speculation etc Thread

Our lower range rentals have actually paid off well for us. DeMelo, Nino, Names and Miller have all stayed. I think the middle class guys are often just fine staying in Winnipeg.
It'll be interesting to see if the Jets go this route -
This is middle class that likely plays lower class minutes and taking spots that were being battled for (by our draft picks) all season. Not sure if that is what the Jets want to do - but he is an upgrade.

Yeah I don't reallly get acquiring a guy who isn't a bonafide top 4 guy, significantly above anything we have now. I'd much rather go for a 2C if we're spending assets or making a hockey trade.
Has linden already been traded to wpg as multiple posts bout it, but, can’t find anything.

I mean he is playing top pairing with fox...

Hes getting top 4 ev mins and top 2 pk mins

Even if lindgren just bumps stan off our pk rotation thats a massive improvement

Samberg-demelo
Lindgren-miller

Suddenly you have jomo and pionk rested

Yeah but they haven't shown any interest in putting Miller out there on the PK. I would also like to get Pionk off the PK both to rest him and to hopefully get some better results. Don't think replacing Stan with Lindgren does that.

Pagnotta says Rasmus Andersson “would be open to a move and would welcome one”

Would love Andersson on the Jets
Dream scenario. Jets have the pieces, but would he want to be here long term? Doubtful.

Calgary exceeding expectations and fighting for a wildcard spot likely keeps him off the market barring a ridiculous overpayment.

Here’s the X link from the main board

Says it would cost 3 assets…1st, prospect, +…with the + varying depending on the quality of the prospect.

Also sounds like it’s more of Pagnotta thinking this or that, instead of anything Andersson has said

I dont see the urgency - Andersson will get a HAUL next TD

Think the Flames would be nuts not to just sign him to an 8 yeard deal
But if he wants out, (not saying he wants out or could just open to it if it’s offered), then moving him sooner rather than later could be the best move.

Rumours are CGY would be looking for a C prospect… so that’s Lucius, Lambert, Yager
-Lucius has the injury history and hasn’t really lived up to his draft position…in part because of the injury issues
-Lambert is our closest to ready C prospect and is so far looking like he’s gonna be a good player
-Yager is our future 2C hope, but is a couple, at least, years away

Most likely CGY would want Lambert

If I knew for certain he’d be willing to extend in WPG, I’d be a lot more willing to discuss prospects like Lambert or Yager

I would pay their ask even if Rasmus leaves after his contract is up, we'd have him for the next 2 runs while Helle and Scheif are elite
Would depend on the ask for me.
I would trade them Pionk though.. I know I’m in the minority here and if I had the choice I’d keep him for the rest of this season…but he’s likely gonna want a huge raise after this year, with how he’s playing, and I personally highly doubt he’s going to be able to repeat this years play again.

I don't think there is anyway for certain to know if Anderson would be willing to re-sign in Winnipeg. He is 1 1/2 years out so he can't re-sign yet. Chevy would have to trade for him based on 1 1/2 years of service and hope he likes it in Winnipeg. He only has a 6 team no trade list, so maybe Winnipeg isn't on it.

I never understood players having a location issue with WPG.
During the season, they play so often they’re not doing much but playing, practicing, and working out.
During the offseason, they’ve been paid enough that they should be able to go anywhere they want without it being an issue.

Andersson is prob worth lambert and yager

If I’m going to make the deal, I try to keep Lambert and trade Yager.
Our window is now and next year Lambert helps that where as Yager is more of an after the window closes type prospect.

Offer 1st + Yager + Heinola and see what happens

Swap Heinola for Salo and I think that's probably a deal that Calgary considers. They will get significantly better offers than 1st Yager Heinola. It's a massive risk that you make that move and he doesn't resign. Likely this is an offseason move when you can at least discuss the possibility of an extension with the player.
