Cheech had a double sports hernia injury. Cooch's seems different but not sure the specific differences.

No Mukh, eh? I hope that means he's basically solidified as a regular on the Sharks' blue line for the rest of the season--something I think he both deserves and needs.
I’m surprised they didn’t activate Rutta to send Muk down. I’m sure it’s coming though.

Ah yeah, that could be the next domino. Though it would be kind of weird for a young guy like Mukh to sit out the break only to then go back to the Barracuda instead of playing like five or six games with them over the next two weeks.
I think they can’t activate Rutta unless he is actually healthy per the CBA or going to be healthy when the break is over. The other guys who were activated will be for sure ready to play after the break.
I would love Muk to get some games in during the break with the Cuda but if this implies he is up with the Sharks for good the rest of the season I’m all for it.
I don't think it necessarily implies anything other than that the Sharks have to meet the league minimum roster size. He may or may not be up for the rest of the season, but we'll only know for sure once Rutta is able to come off injured reserve and then we'll see what they do.
Only one guy activated (Kostin) who was a "healthy" scratch Saturday.
There is no roster freeze, so Sharks could activate an IR guy any time and send Shakir down, if they wanted to.
Defenseman Jeremie Bucheler has been called up to the Barracuda for the first time this season.

The thought of him headed to the Barracuda is a nice one, but I think Calgary reclaims him.
Yeah I just don’t see why Calgary doesn’t claim him unless they really want to get rid of the contract slot.
Genuinely surprised Calgary didn't take him back. Duehr put up 19 points in 20 games with the Wranglers earlier this season.
Unless there is a rule about after x number of days he can’t go back to their AHL team but since he was claimed by the Sharks Calgary could have claimed him and sent him directly to the AHL.
Yeah so Calgary could have been the only team to claim him. It’s not like they had to worry about teams ahead of them in the standings claiming him.
Unsurprising, that was their only option at the moment.
