We were right there
I think you have blocked them lol
haha fair, that actually makes too much sense
I think you have blocked them lol
theyve also beaten the top4 teams in the west.Kings have played one of the softest schedules in the league, so that's contributing to their "success" for sure.
We'll see if it holds up.
I do think the division being so weak makes things more interesting.
Biz looked pretty good for fighting 6 guys in a parking lot.TNT crew has gelled and are much better now. I still feel like a few of them don’t add much, but it’s not as bad as it was.
Good come from behind win, but no consistency from top offensive players. Sooner or later this will become an issue. As an NHL coach, you have to find a way to get your top offense players to produce.
Wrong board.theyve also beaten the top4 teams in the west.
It’s because their schedule has been incredibly light.Definitely a weird season. Doughty goes down in preseason and defense is holding strong without him amazingly. PP is bottom
6 but honestly that’s not that surprising, since the PP has only had one season in the last 12 when it was good.
And the inconsistencies of the roster. Byfield like MIA most nights, Moore and Danault are on pace for around their averages but can’t score goals. Fiala is little kid in little league chasing butterflies and looking at flowers instead of focusing on the game. Lewis is 100, Lee and Helenius are inexperienced, Thomas and Turcotte need to stay off the scrap piles.
Then Kopitar, Kempe, Laf and Foegle are the consistent/pleasant surprises so far from the forwards.
Yet somehow with all that, they’re still doing well in the standings. Odd stuff.
Yeah, don't forget they are a 'black hole' team just like the Minnesota Wild. It’s because their schedule has been incredibly light.
Outside of two big wins against Vegas and Winnipeg, they haven’t really impressed against legitimate contenders.
It’s this iteration of the Kings MO.
No doubt they are playing great hockey right now, but this ain’t the time of the season where being hot matters. The best way to get your team out of the "Black Hole" is to make a trade with Rob Blake. Job well done Minn & Winnipeg.
The modern product has been more bland for years, although the Kings have a lot to do with that for our purposes. I say that, of course, as a caveman who misses when Game 21 could have as much intensity as a current era playoff game so the argument of there being more skill now doesn't do anything for me.Part of me laments those days.
The crowds and energy inside Staples was so much better back then.
Expectations are everything.
Although I wonder if the modern NHL product is more bland than it used to be.
It was a tongue-in-cheek comment....in regards to the above post showing the top 2 currently in the West conference standings. No doubt they are playing great hockey right now, but this ain’t the time of the season where being hot matters.
I’d be willing to wager that it’s more likely than not they both are first round exit teams.
Yeah, I generally avoid feeding the low-rent trolls at all cost. It’s a sure fire way to degrade a decent conversation about hockey into a grade-school pissing match. It was a tongue-in-cheek comment....in regards to the above post showing the top 2 currently in the West conference standings.
I actually don't care about other teams -- just the Kings.

I never wanted to miss a home game in-person and mostly didn't for like 15 years because I never knew what I might miss. Now? I know that I'm most likely not going to miss anything that would leave me saying "Wish I was there for that".
I think the Englund hit against the Penguins and the Byfield goal against CBJ were the only times I was pretty bummed to not have been in-person last year.
I am typing this after just putting up all my seats for sale tomorrow night, once again. I think the first game I will go to will be Edmonton at the end of the month.
A guy that even last year was still going to at least one pre-season game and currently has five seats won't be going to a game until December 28th. Never imagined this happening but Bluc has really done it to me.
I'd rather pay for the tickets and potentially spend money to not be there.Hard to forget last season's blistering start followed by blistering fall
Have you considered simply being a social media influencer
free tickets and then the team cares what you think!
Part of it could just be that you're older now and it's harder to get excited. The modern product has been more bland for years, although the Kings have a lot to do with that for our purposes. It is because I am older now since being older now means I was there for a product I prefer much more.Part of it could just be that you're older now and it's harder to get excited.
But I also think nowadays there's too many games, too many teams, too much parity. Not enough real fighting and big hits. The NHL has also "corporatized" the consumption of its product to make it near uniform across the league.
Combine that all with a fanbase that isn't hungry anymore because they've won multiple Stanley Cups and you've got a stale environment.
Also, is it me? Or are the intermissions too long nowadays? You don't notice as much when you're watching on TV, but when you're in the arena it feels too damn long.
Decent conversation and trolling ?Yeah, I generally avoid feeding the low-rent trolls at all cost. It’s a sure fire way to degrade a decent conversation about hockey into a grade-school pissing match.
Decent conversation and trolling ?
Somebody dares to say something remarkable/positive.
Than you call the schedule not just light but incredibly light with just two wins vs. legitimate contenders on top of it.
This while nobody even knows who is legitimate and we have to read every single day that the Kings are 1st round playoff fodder.
The latter might be true but are we gonna repeat this every single day until april ?
Yes it works both ways but there was not much blind optimism in that particular quote but even that needed to be shot down.Have they done anything remarkable to prove otherwise?
I'm all ears for reasonable conversation
But blind and judgmental optimism from the same posters over and over is gonna meet the usual fate
Perhaps.Yes it works both ways but there was not much blind optimism in that particular quote but even that needed to be shot down.
The last seasons we had to read LA constantly messed it up vs bottom feeders. Now they win most of those and a new argument is born…a light schedule.
Its getting terribly annoying, yes.
