Not a chance. It'd be one thing if LA had purpose, and DAL was deflecting them, LA had zero purpose last night, zero drive, when they DID drive the net, they scored, Jeannot, Foegle were the only two doing f***all towards the net.....
Because DAL wouldn’t let them get in the zone!

NIce to see a win, but that was some mediocre hockey.
indeed, but found a way to win, they didn't fold. Hopefully they learn that they can't take a period off and expect to win against and opponent like Dallas and especially the way Minny has been playing.

Saturday is going to be huge

Uninspiring, do the least you can and pray it's good enough, not a big fan of the 11/7 not sure why, unless they couldn't keep Lee up as an emergency call up..... @All The Kings Men any insight on that?
I suspect Hiller wanted more "toughness" in the lineup verse Dallas.

Personally I'd rather see Lee in the lineup over Burroughs. Lee-Helenius is a beefy combo.

We gotta give Adolf Hiller big props for this win. Earlier this year or under the Koala, the kings would have been shelled after that horribad start
Tmac never made adjustments. Theyd have gotten shelled in the first period and stayed back on their heels the rest of the game while running Kopitar into the ground for nearly half of it.
Hiller makes some weird choices but his best trait is his feel for the game. Hell role with whatever line is clicking that night and shake up the rest until he gets results. Hes a unique coach and I still dont have an opinion on him. I dont think opposing coaches know what to expect either when they are giving their players pregame assignments. You dont really need to contain any certain Kings players and who knows what kind of forecheck theyll have on any given night.

Mediocre roster = mediocre hockey.

It's actually pretty remarkable where the team is at right now. So many players underperforming. Terrible PP. No #1 Dman. A backup goalie as our starter. And yet we have 15 regulation wins. NJ is the only team with more. 4pts out of 1st in the division with a game in hand.

Personally, I feel like the 11/7 is annoying because it disrupts flow/consistency. It forces the Kings to constantly change their line combos / D pairings.

It's also just kind of..... Pointless (IMO). Like I know Burroughs had an assist last night but even then he ended up with 4 mins and 50 seconds of ice time. What good does that really do??

I'd much rather roll 4 forward lines and allow players to establish chemistry with consistent linemates / d partners as opposed to shuffling things around all night just to get a 7th d man (who hadn't played in nearly a month) less than 5 mins of ice time.

It can be effective - and it can be fun at times because it'll yield some interesting line combos/pairings. But more often than not, it just feels disruptive.

This is a team that we would be stoked about in 2004 when just making the playoffs was a win for the fanbase. Actually winning something lets us know when we are watching a team that is good enough to win it all and this ain't it.

Still prefer this over last year, however.

Would need to see the teams Hiller has faced at home but on the surface, it's a good look on him for winning so many home games. It's probably just because I've been so busy that I haven't used my seats once this season.

TNT crew has gelled and are much better now. I still feel like a few of them don’t add much, but it’s not as bad as it was.

I think it says more about the division than it says about the Kings. Kings aren’t a good team. The needle hasn’t moved forward this year. Anyone who is content with this brand of hockey is not watching with context.

I agree. 11/7 can cause massive flow issues for players who are typically creatures of habit and thrive on chemistry.

Of course, it has places, but I don't know what circumstances Hiller considers, beyond the "ice a roster that will win" directive.

I attribute a lot of the success to the D. Despite the inconsistency from some key offensive players and the PP being doo doo, the D pairs have really settled in. The shot suppression and the quality goaltending from Rittich, especially at home have led to wins like last night. They shut it down for the most part after the first half. Clarke has settled on the D side and Spence has been great since being paired with Moverare.

Kings have played one of the softest schedules in the league, so that's contributing to their "success" for sure.

We'll see if it holds up.

I do think the division being so weak makes things more interesting.

No one said any of this.

Joel Edmundson is way better than 99% of us thought.

I don't think he is, really. He's just smart enough to play within his means for the most part. He got burned catastrophically quite a few times last night, as well, and was bailed out. Rittich doesn't make a couple of saves and we're having a very different conversation about Flatfoot McGee this AM.

Still does have the absolute hammer of a shot though, one that makes people respect it, and that is definitely an underrated weapon.

Whos content with it?
Its not even just the Pacific division. There arent a lot of great teams and even the best teams are looking flat often or have big issues like Colorados goaltending.
Ive been ending up on my phone during a lot of games league wide this year sadly since its not all that exciting.

He often seems more interested in generating offense than being a responsible defender. It gets on my nerves considering the role he was brought in for.

Also, Clarke got punched in the face last night. Part of the thesis for acquiring Edmundson was to prevent that sort of thing from happening, or at least retaliate.
