Myatovic wasn't high on my list at #33 for the Ducks. I agree it's not going well, but it's also a bit misleading.

2023-24: 12 games, 0 pts, -8 rating
2024-25: 5 games, 0 pts, -1 rating ... he got injured and that's why he hasn't played that many games

IMO, Myatovic should have stayed in the WHL this year. He was injured last year to where he only played in half of the games. No idea why Verbeek is rushing him at all aside from putting him into a pro program for weight gain and lifting.

Verbeek doesn't like overripening prospects. Maybe he's got Paula Abdul's song on repeat and singing it in his version, "Rush, rush... Hurry, hurry, prospect, come to me."

It's Myatovic's first, full season as a pro and only has five games this season. Let's wait a couple more seasons to put him into the Tracey and Perreault category.

Again, I wasn't a fan of picking him at #33. Since he's ours now, I'll choose to hope for the best. Because if he succeeds, then the Ducks will benefit.

That 2023 draft is Carlsson and Clara. The 2024 draft class seems to have more overall depth for the Ducks already with Sennecke, Solberg, Tarin Smith, Pettersson, Masse and Proczyn.
I think Masse's size will make him a safer bet to be a NHLer than Sidorov.
Proczyn just seems to be a better prospect overall than Sidorov and Myatovic.
