I’d rather grab friends of MM than those such as DeLo, Laughton, Hayes and the other losers that have been on the roster in recent years. It sure looks like Michkov can play this game. I doubt that he’s going to lobby for acquiring clowns on ice here.

Agreed but I’d rather get players that can play rather than people that make MM laugh

Yes to all of this. Only coots giroux and Patrick could pass fast one touch hockey and it would score. Michkov is on that level. Frost had some of it but would get benched for it. Coots is a fast player when allowed to play fast. Different than skating fast. It bug the crap out of me that people can’t see the coaching that takes this away. I can name so many players they try to put a square peg into a round hole. Even provorov got changed. His best year he would rub people out on the boards with a hip check. If he missed which was rare it would lead to a scoring chance. So they made him stop and play contain.

Provorov's strength was leading a rush and for reasons nobody will ever make me understand they took that from him

I do not care "The Cates Line" has been playing well or that it ranks anywhere special in xGF or whatnot across the league. There is more to hockey than having one good line on a team.

It is beyond time to break them up. I believe there is no reason to play Michkov or TK with anyone less than our current two best centers. Lycksell is a top line player in the AHL but gets 4th line teammates and ice time in the NHL. A point per game player in the A with a nice playoff resume to boot should never have been stuck to the 4th line whenever called upon by the Flyers. It blew my mind when he passed through waivers earlier this season. I'm not saying he should be 2LW (I have no idea what Lycksell is in the NHL nor do the Flyers), but I do strongly believe he's more than a 4th line call-up/AHL tweener and I think he deserves a shot on a bottom feeder team to show what he's actually got and put in a position to succeed.

I also believe Foerster is held back by Cates and Brink. That guy oozes talent who looks primed to really break out and I think he would benefit by playing with better players, too.

You are sadly deluding yourself if you think the God Emperor would ever consider scratching Seeler or playing Lycksell more than 7-8 minutes per game.

You're so right. This Grebenkin kid would even see 2LW in my proposed lineup before Lycksell. Seeler makes The God Emperor's tiny PP go boyyoyoyyoyoingggg.

This lame-duck, other-word-for-chicken-sucker of a coach has got to go.

Briere has to hire his own guy. A GM of a losing team usually gets to hire two coaches. After two duds, he gets canned as well. Whether he likes it or not Briere is stuck with Tortorella being his first hire. If Tortorella’s replacement fizzles, Briere will be dropped into the All Gone machine with him.
