At this point, Marner only aspires to be average at the 4 nations.I think with Rantanen and Marner looking average in this tourny the price on them might not get astronomical. Gives us a chance at least.
A 3 game tournament where Rantanen is playing on an overmatched team and Marner's on one with tons of great options at F will have no effect on how GM's (all of which have an extra 10 million in cap space) will approach free agency. I suspect most of the contracts given out will be shocking relative to what we have seen the last decade. We have a burst in the dam on the demand side (10 million in extra cap for everyone) and no real change in the supply of guys getting to UFA status. Basic economics means guys are going get paid well.I think with Rantanen and Marner looking average in this tourny the price on them might not get astronomical. Gives us a chance at least.
You dont think GMs will look at how these players played in big games and moments and have internal change of value on a player?A 3 game tournament where Rantanen is playing on an overmatched team and Marner's on one with tons of great options at F will have no effect on how GM's (all of which have an extra 10 million in cap space) will approach free agency. For a guy like Marner, you could have figured this out years ago. He does it every single playoffs. It’s nothing new for him.You dont think GMs will look at how these players played in big games and moments and have internal change of value on a player?
My value of Brady Tkachuk Morrissey Eichel and Hagel has gone through the roof and guys like Marner Marchand and Pettersson have gone down.
You can see the clearer distinction between players in these tournaments when these best guys are on the same teams and playing against one another.
