Not sexy, but I’d like to sign Pacioretty. Good veteran voice. When he’s played he’s been useful. Left wing for bedard or Nazar with some size. Cheap. And if you’re lucky and he’s healthy he could be a few good picks at deadline.

I think it’s a nice thing to have. If one of them has a great injury free year you get assets. If they get injured it gives a young guy a “natural promotion” as opposed to being gifted spots. Think Colton Dach.

Not faded vets with little to offer or pure crap

Pacioretty was not good this past year when healthy and is going to be 36

I would take a flyer on Pacioretty if he'd come here and he feels healthy. Former captain, won't take much to sign him, he's still better than almost every forward that dressed for the Hawks last year.

Depends who the team can sign in free agency. If they can't attract any decent free agents after the 1st 3 days I'd give st. louis a call.

Saad is an upgrade over at least 9 of the forwards that were on the team last year.
