Yup! First NCAA year at age 18 and is already a force on the ice. He's only going to get better.
Definitely a grade A prospect for me

It has probably been asked before on this thread but not going to read 44 pages, so, what is Hage NHL projection?
I read Sam Bennett?
Add possibly a 1C in this years draft and a forward with size and grit with CGY's pick if were lucky right out of the top 10 would be amazing. Then Hughes has to acquire a 2nd and 3rd pair RD when Gallagher and Andersons contracts are out and were good to go if Fowler becomes our 1st GHaving Hutson, Demidov, Hage, Dach and Suzuki as players who can f***ing carry a puck in the zone and make a play.. what a future dynamic.
a whole lot more talented than Bennett. Bennett is a unique 3rd line grinder that every team needs in playoffs, Hage could be a PPG center with his speed and shot and iqIt has probably been asked before on this thread but not going to read 44 pages, so, what is Hage NHL projection?

That such a bad comparison.... Kucherov has drafted in the second round vs Adam Larsson(#4) in the top 5....New Jersey did great picking Adam Larson, the big RH defenseman, over Nikita Kucherov.
They’d do it again tomorrow!
Exactly . In previous years we would have gotten the comments that such player was gone when we drafting .Trade up
Change the odds
Create your own luck
I believe MB only traded down or exchanged 7th round picks. He got lucky with Caufield. Of course while Hughes has targeted the right players he also has been lucky that Demidov, Hage and Hutson went lower than they should have.Exactly . While we draft Duds with such and later picks
He traded down a couple of times which rarely makes sense to me. I think one time he gave a end of 2nd round pick for a beginning of 3rd round pick and a 4th round pick and the narrative was that the player we wanted at the end of the 2nd round would still be available at the beginning of the 3rd round and i was like yeeeaahhh riiiighttt but what if he's not available can you travel to the future to be sure? For me a 4th was not worth the gamble. 4th round picks very rarely becomes NHLers and the value in a trade at the deadline is minimal.I believe MB only traded down or exchanged 7th round picks.

Nah…I don’t see it as luck, teams make decisions and pick players because they think they are BPA, it’s not like Caufield was in hiding or Hage and their names were buried under a pile for nobody to see and as the Habs were ready to pick, they magically became available. It absolutely is luck when you don't know how other team's have players ranked and your staff believes that Hage was a mid teen pick and are being correctly justified as such so far.
I will try and find the clip but I think Hughes may have even used the word "lucky" when talking about Hage falling to to them. By your statement we also were not lucky to have Demidov fall to us or Caufield fall to us.
I know what you are saying and I agree with much of it but from the Canadiens perspective they admittedly tried to do more to move up to specifically get Hage as they would need less luck to draft him......they failed to do so and were ecstatic and surprised to still see him there. From their evaluation of him they felt other teams would see the same things and rank him considerably higher as they did. So.....objectively, they needed to be lucky to be able to draft him based on their evaluation of him.
Exactly. It's good player evaluation and in Hage's case moving up as much as possible to get him. And in the first round some (maybe a lot of the players teams favor) that are known. Anaheim was expected to take Sennecke. HuGo may have known the odds were good Hage would be there at 21.He traded down a couple of times which rarely makes sense to me. You could make a case that every good picks but the top 5 maybe went lower than they should have. Can be said or Patrice Bergerton, David Pasternak, David Krejci, Nikita Kucherov, Ondrej Palat, Point, Hintz, Robertson, almost every goddamn picks by Carolina. Almost always happen to the same good people. A bit of chance yeah but still got to draft the right guy. When every teams pass on the guy it's a fallacy to believe it was an obvious pick.

Get ready for atleast 10 years of that... We are not ready. Hopefully, Demidov will be as good if not better.
Christ almighty. He’s probably our most exciting forward pick outside of Demidov in years. Slaf was pretty question mark-y and it was hard to get a read on him. Still is a bit.
Beautiful pass
Oh yeah, once I saw those Hage highlights I would’ve been pissed if we passed on him even to take Eiserman if he was still therehage > eiserman
He didn’t, so one point.
He also affected the go ahead goal . They were expecting a pass to him and cheating towards him and his linemate took advantage of that to score. He didn’t, so one point.
For BU, Eiserman with a goal… and -2. Get used to that.
