Every time I say they won’t get me excited again…only to be crushed in a couple days
Seriously though, let’s push forward and add a couple bats.
Law of averages we gotta win one someday. Also Padres ownership in bit of flux as brothers of late owner fighting with late owners wife maybe that causes issues that Sasaki doesn't like. I'm ready for anything here.I’m ready to be disappointed again.
This is going to hurt.
The ace for a whole country.San Diego can offer the most money iirc
The Dodgers have the cultural
Toronto would instantly put him in the rotation and give him a chance to potentially become the biggest Japanese star.
Still seems absolutely pathetic to me.Five events led to increased birth metrics 9(±1) months later and these included the Super Bowl, the 2009 UEFA Champions League, the 2010 FIFA World Cup, the 2016 UEFA Euros and the 2019 Rugby World Cup. Several la Liga soccer matches also had effects. With a few exceptions, major American football, Association football (soccer) and Rugby apex tournaments in Africa, North America, Asia and Europe were associated with increases in the number of babies born and/or in the birth sex ratio 9(±1) months following notable team wins and/or hosting the tournament. Furthermore, unexpected losses by teams from a premier soccer league were associated with a decline in births 9 months on.
Sporting tournaments and changed birth rates 9 months later: a systematic review - PMC
Major sporting tournaments may be associated with increased birth rates 9 months afterwards, possibly due to celebratory sex. The influence of major sporting tournaments on birth patterns remains to be fully explored. Studies that examined the ...pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov

we are not in contention!f*** theyre going to get our hopes up again arent they
So Sasaki is between Dodgers, Padres and Jays. That is the order of likehood as well. Let me see would he like to play with the defending champions who have one of the best Japanese pitchers in mlb history and one of it not the best Japanese position players of all time who also happens to be another one of the best Japanese pitchers of all time. Or he could come to a team trending down to being a rebuilding team with zero direction but has a nice spring facility. Wonder where he'll choose lol. There is zero chance he's coming here.

The whole "Wah! Wah! I don't want to be disappointed" isn't a good look either.
Almost for certain. We really are about to come in 2nd again aren’t we?
I read something a few months ago where he wanted to be "THE" guy. He wouldnt be that in LA. So he might choose toronto or San Diego. Who knows.Yeah, for once it's nice to have a dude consider us not simply to gain leverage on his actual desired market...but he'd have to be nuts to choose the Jays over the Dodgers right now.
I remember that too….kinda likes things abit more low key, and wants to be the guy….I doubt sasaki even considers the dodgers I have to find the article but he hates the Japanese media and dealt with mental health issues because of them I doubt he would wanna go to a market as big as the dodgers.
So it should be really a 2 team race between the padres and the jays, jays have issues but so does san diago money issues and they might even relocate
Has to be the next step.If we signed him, wonder if we would then flip Bassit for some salary relief then go for Bregman and/or Santander/Alonso.
I'm torn on trading Bassitt if they add another starter. There's so much value in having a decent veteran who can eat innings. I guess if you think you can get similar value for half the cost or something then you can spend $10 million on another solid piece... maybe? But it's not like they would really save $20 million because they would need another starter.I remember that too….kinda likes things abit more low key, and wants to be the guy….
Plus, I resist the negative vibe around here as long as I can.
Has to be the next step.
There was a tweet the other day about teams nosing around him.
I hear you, and his fips were better than his numbers last year so he’s likely to be fine as an inning eater.I'm torn on trading Bassitt if they add another starter.
