Rinzel 1g but -1 only 2 shotscon goal..
Oliver Moore Zero points 2 shots -1

But his coach only had Moore in a 3C role ...I guess he does not believe in Moore's offensive impact EITHER!
Not that theirvguys on lines 1 and 2 dod any better..Some did worse with obviously no points and -2s..

But to be Fairchild Moore, thevgreatcJamesxHagenscakso hadconlyv2 shotsvon goal and was s -1 ..hisxwingers forvB.C. wrrexalsov-1each and with Zero poibtscas Boston College lost 5-2to Merrimack..Oh my!

But success for Boston U. On a 6-1 win over Vermont ..RYAN GREENE was starry with a 4 point night 1g 3a (2 primary) and a +3...

Aidan Thompson 1g 1a in a 4-1 win for Denver U....

Well...you couldcsubcribe to the kugelblitz theory
..you need a constellation of "stars"= deothbofctalent...so if Hawks do NOT havexa Generatiobal difference'maker in Bedard..nor any pipeline suoerstars consistent multi'poibts dup o league leading scoer condos, maybexa constellation of 6 top 2 line scoring talents each ONKY providing 1 point on averahecper game WOULD give tge Hawks in combo as a team 6 goalsxz night domination?
So ratger than dram of sone McDVID-Draisaitke combo dominating.. or some trio of scorers kije Marner Natgews and Nylander..maybe hmHawks settle for a mere MUgelblitz of 6 tip 2 libe forwards each on average capable of 1 stinking pountva night..

Bedard almost there with a midv70s point iace but tgatvuscoblyc1 of 6 that thecteMnreds.

So we may not have a 100 -120 poibts guy or one of those and a 90 points guy...butvibstead justc6vgiys all capable of 70-85 points ..

Tgerevus no 1 'saviour" giving us boatloadscofc3 and 4 point games every second or third game..maybe alk we need are 3 sets iof 2 evey noght alk pn average providing 1 liibtca novht or 3 lints in every 3 game span..

This woukd be d be a constellation of small stars if not one or two Giant stars ...

Domination through depth ratherr than one or two very top of the league escorers?

Of course if Bedard insustsxob providing onlyc1 shot on goal only...he willnot score many goals ..be limited to his 1a and out production most hames with the odd goal interlaced on occasion.
Obviously if 6 top six forwards average 1loibt per game...somebody hasvto be converting gols off Bedard assists..

SoveitgervBedatd's goals do go up because of better feeds to hom by hisx2 top six libemates coning,or he continues mostly assisting the converting. But the pint is alk top six forwards cannot just getcmainkyvasists..Sobebifcthen must convert setvupscibtobgoals ..

Anyway tgecidea of assembling 6 guts cOablecof at least 1 oiintva ganevon average.. of which half or more must be goals.. shoukd drive up the #of goals Hawks score compared to now..

However ..the Hawks mustv defend bettercand not give up 5 orv6 goals against so often as keeps happening now.

It would help if they kept better possession and did not give up 23 give-aways as per last night's horror show.

Where would Moore rank among our prospects right now? Levshunov, Kantserov, Rinzel, Nazar, Boisvert and maybe even Lardis has to be ahead of him right now?

Jack Pridham 2 goals 8 shots on goal Even
Lardis 1g +1 2shog
Vanacker 1a Even 3shog

Rinzel 1a (secondary) +1 3shog
Moore 1a (primary) +2 2shog 13/22 on draws
Ryan Greene 1g Even 2shog 4/13 on draws
Aidan Thompson 1g 1a +4 6shog
Sascha Boisvert 1g((GWG -3x3 OT) Even
5/9 on draws

Dominic James 1g 3shog Even 9/21 on draws

I..as I posted before, I am not as high inhalers as sone of the "consensus" who rank hom#1or#2 overall..

FyI..botca productive weekend forcHagens back inthe NCAA...zero poibts in a 5-2loss to Merrimack and a 4-1win over Merrimack in back to back games..

Meaning his NCAa numberscac5g 15a in 22GP ..ok but not anything I woukdvoutxforx#1or#2 overall consideration...especialky since he pkays with stud wingers Leobard and Perrault .goibgto pick up assists with those guys...
Not only that but HagebsvisxNother undersized (ubdr 6'0) C...Hawks do Not need that type anymore.Hahebsvisxa goid pkayerxwith sone attributes I like..but he is not as fast as Moore...or as fat as Misa..I woukd not call hom overall physical either..He has very goid hockey sense knowing where to go and goid hands in close to the net ..but though ascertaining 5 player tgerexarexenough concerns I have on hom beibg able to translate his game to be an elite differebce-maker point stud player in the NHL...I do not think he will scare defenses like Jack Hughes does.

In any case hev is notva solution fr the Hawks needs.

I woukdvonlyvrank hom #5 overall.. just my opinion.

PORTER MARTONE disappointed me at theWJC..butcall Team Canada forwards did akso I thoughtcMartonevkoojedxskiwer than I had thought of his skating.
Still you cannot teach size and strength and so maybe paired with a plYmakibg Center this piwr forward physical style winger can translate to an effective forstvorc2ndvkibexwinger.

.So hevis #4 on my rankibg.

Mathew Schaefer is my clear#2. NOTVONLY because he is the youngest of the top 5 by a lot..but because he has all the qualities you want projecting to ac#1D with still loadscofceven more upside. Hevisxa special unicorn tslentvi this draft.. thevonlybissuecisxwill healed from tge collarbone break can he perform at the same high level or will there be consequences froma collarbone brak that limit his effectiveness...shoukd nt affect his skating ,but maybe he will psychologically hold back or notcengagexohysixalkycas before..or will it affect his puckhNdlung, passing or shoiting g?
As a non medical doctor,I do not know ,but my brktgerxwhi is one sYs ifvitcreLkycwas bad tgere coujdbbe skbe effects..morexso with sY fkitball or baseball players..butcstill Hawks medical staff wkukd need to weigh in on this..His orgbjsisxafter surgery was 3 months awY from returning. ..so JAN Feb March...do not know if his team willbe I playoffs.. if not maybe he is with Team Canada at u-18s or with Team Canada at the WHC if his team not in playoffs.
So hopefully we view hom again this season..but from what I have seen of hisxeffect controlling games on hos shifts, the wkite defending and high end skill combo and 4way mobility and puck carry ,vision, hockeyvsense skins, tgerevis Noway he can fall off#1inmy books.
Franchise D-man ..big impact to success fort that gets him.

At #2Micaek Misa.. even though not physical...he is a high end scorer Ndvpjaymaker with elite speed..Unlike Oliver Moore he uses his speed to actualky finish in goals orcusesvhis kibenates on set-uos. Ekite offebse but also effectivec2 wY game with tgatxsoiedd and usibg bidyvoisitionand Stockton defend...Concern might be physical battkes on the biards and at tge crease..but hevisc6' 185..coukdvadd mire mass abdvojaycatc299 so perhaps getyibg stronger will help on board and crease battkes. But he can fkyvandxscarecdrfebsesbin backing in..get break-awaysxand 2 on1s ..Gain o'-zone ...Goodcshot ..good playnajibgvg..Any more ceing ..that not sure if Hevhas always been goidxatcevery level. HEcan be a top kinevirctop 2line effective big points NHL star.

3 Cakeb Deniyers. A combo of high skill..goodxsjatibg..high energy compete 2 wY pkayer..size 6'2 and 173 so room to fill out get stronger.. forechecjs...back checks.. Terrficon draws (63%)..Doninatibgbi tge Q now..getting Better as season goes on..Even higher upside still pisdibke..I think hevis ranked way too lowcon most lists .Top 10 of course..but I do notvthink #3overall is out of the question ..he has increased me that much and does so many things things well that beibg a top six C or used at Wing but taking draws,he will have no problem transitioning to the NHL level..

Monkton is currently using his as a winger but he takes draws on hisvkine.. however hi defensive game is so good that heviften pkays tge C rokevoncecin the D-zone.

Put it this way. He will impact any kibeche gets put onto no matter if playsxascthe designated Center or as a winger who takes draws for the
libe and could take the C-defensive role when in that zone...Elite comoetitor...Will add to his frame so get even physically stronger.. Uses his teammates well.. high hockey I. Q...he has all tge qualities t you want and any coach would love.
His floor is at least 2nd line player but he has shown he can also be a top line key guy difference-maker,answering scouts' questions about whether he can drive or help a top line.
So I think he now merits a rise to atbleast #3inmy view.

Maybe by season end he even surpasses Misa in my ranking.

Do not know how KF views it..
I just t hope we do not get Hagens..

MaybcI can see Martone for a power forward need..
But to me I can live with either Misa or Denoyers if we pick 2nd or 3rd and did nit land Schaefer at#1.

There is an OHL special event game ithis xeeek on on January 15th featuring 42 draft eligibles from the OHL.... The game is named after Connor McDavid..

So you will see Michael Misa and Porter Martone headlining play against other OHL draft eligible players ..
Remember that the CHL-NHL Top Prosoects game changed time and format to a CHL vs.USA Chalkenge format played earlier in2024..

Maybe tgexOHL decided they needed a top prospects game just for their own league prospects to replace the mid-to lat January look that the jHL-NHL Top Prosoects game used to provide a bit after mid-season before...

So looking forward to watching this this Wednesday evening....I presume they have it on t.v. for us in Ontario , because I doub the OHL would put this on without sone t v. money coming to them.

So the annual 1st Annual Connor McDavid David OHL Top Prospects Game on Wednedday Jan15th in Brantford Ontario start time 7:15 pm ET .

Update...it looks like there is no network t.v.coveragecfor the game...but if you are a Rogers customer they will show it on your local Rogers Cable Channel..

There also are live stream sources via Facebook or via the OHL live stream YouTube channel where this game will be streamed for free.
So you should bexablectp stream from anywhere .

The 2025 NHL Central Scouting Mid-Term Rankings cone out tomorrow...Tuesday January 14th.

A chance to compare rankings to
all the public rankings from the non-NHL affiliated ranking orgs ...except that Central Scouting uses 4 separate kits.. 1 each for N.A. skaters,Eurostars,N.A. goalies amd Euro goalies..

So hard to compare to the one combined ranking lists...but you get to see perhaps sone surprise views off the "consensus" and a deeper lists ather than the usual top 32 or top 50 (except for elite prospects which akso ranks deeper(at least by final rankingvtome).

I also think NHL zcentral scouting does a lot more projecting than many ranking orgs that are more influenced by what the kid has shown to now in his league orbim tournaments.

So ee shall see.

From the Central Scouting lists I may get a better idea for the Hawks late first and second round and later picks...

I am not surevif KD packages our Toronto first and a 2nd roubdervto get a higher first than justvthecKeafsvpick...orvuses that draft capital in sone trade for sone younger proven NHLer who is perhaps beibg moved because of no place for him higherbin that team's lineup.. or that team wants more draft picks if their draft suits sparse or for upcoming contract extention problems forvthem...

So not sure if KD stands pat withexisting pickscafter we use our 1stcselection..
Or if he uses draft capital after that in other ways.

How is it that we couldn’t find a Defensive Prospect worth a sh*t for an entire dynasty run and now Louis Crevier and Nolan Alan look like top 4D on some nights. Our Hail Mary late first project is being compared to Brock Faber and is a dark horse Hobey guy. Is this the twilight zone?

They didn't draft a 1st round D between Barker and Jokiharyu.

They had like 3-4 2nd rounders only in that era too. 2 of those became, for a short stints, became top 4 Dmen. Just not with the Blackhawks Stephen Johns & Justin Holl.

D was such a prospect afterthought in that era

on one play louis C sprinted up the ice into the OF zone (i think it was for a PK) and went by the CAL d pretty quickly and easily. I actually think when you factor his size his skating he might be a better prospect then kaiser philips DEL M. he has hit 22.32 top speed and that is 81st % and shot speed of 99.10 which is 96% still only 23 years old. and he is a RD. I think he could grow into a solid bottom pairing RD. also daily face off was very high in interview with Rinzel felt like he has top pairing upside.

I thought it was a reach to give up our 3rd for Pridham but considering 2025 draft looks weaker and pridham has size can skate and is now putting up points looks like a very good trade. be great to see him in the NCAA next year.
