Have you? As soon as people do you get folks saying omg it's not as bad or we shouldn't be pessimistic yada yada yada
I think there’s a fatigue factor here. We’re all frustrated with how the last couple of seasons have gone, and how slow this offseason has started for the Jays. Nobody in their right mind are thrilled with the performance of this front office, but as fans we remain hopeful of a positive move to make the team more competitive and entertaining. Post after post of saying f the front office of fire shatkins does what? It’s just bitching.

I can’t speak for everyone, I just know I want to hear about the possibilities and discuss the options. Reading how angry and frustrated others are doesn’t help (me at least).

But hey, it’s a free world, if venting helps you, so be it. Personally I’m just a little tired of the negativity.

Can’t help but have Deja Vu from last season.

Jays miss out on the big fish (Soto/Ohtani), rumoured to sign the secondary guy (Santander/Pederson), end up with Plan D (Turner/Turner).

Certainly starting to feel that way. The only solace we have is said secondary guys haven't moved anywhere and there's been very little chatter to give us an idea of where they might go.

I’m not liking where it’s headed. Houston in on Santa now after trading Tucker, Burnes from the West Coast, etc.

Have we won Jack in 9 years?

No?

Yeah you're gna get complaints. Jfc.
I mean... yeah, no shit. I never said negativity wasn't justified. But it's reached the point where if you say anything positive about anything, there's an avalanche of angry posts about how shitty management is. Anger has entirely replaced rational discussion.

The gaslighting is on point. 🤣
Jesus Christ, man. It was like... two days ago that someone ranted at me about how terrible management is because I suggested that things were looking good for the team in 2021.

Edit: Maybe it's just a few people who respond that way that makes it seem more common than it is. I would argue it's probably the same in the other direction. I don't understand where the "You can't say anything negative around here!" thing comes from, especially over the last year.

You just said negativity was finally warranted. For the last 3 years anyone who has even had minor criticisms of the team (and I'm not talking about Shaner's random outbursts) or expressed a non-positive opinion has been dog-piled and shouted down by the toxic-positivity crowd and told they're idiots, that they don't watch and/or know baseball, etc.

We were told to believe that the team was actually good, but they just weren't winning because of extraneous forces beyond their control. That if we didn't believe things were going in the right direction we didn't know anything. So most people kept their mouths shut (other than Shaner), and just stayed quiet or stayed away rather than being able to vent their legitimate frustrations as you were able to express your boundless optimism. And now that you say negativity is finally warranted you want us to shut up still? lol

I do find it entertaining that posters are saying "you can't say anything negative about the management" in a thread where 95% of the posts are NEGATIVE COMPLAINTS ABOUT MANAGEMENT...

So….Lauer, minor league starter depth? Or are they taking a flier on him as a potential pen lefty?

Either way, I don’t hate it. No risk, and he does have some history of success in MLB even if it was 3-4 years ago.

IF you signed Burnes, could you offload Bassit for relief pitchers or would it be better suited to go after a corner OF bat?
I was thinking this as well… the Athletics are throwing money around at pitchers in free agency. Maybe something like Bassitt and Cash (5M?) to Athletics for Michel Otanez and Kyle McCann.

You really like making up a narrative. You may have had opposing views which is kind of the point of a site. Shaner is certainly the extreme but people with positive views or that offered counter points were called rogers apologists. That dates back to the AA days when most people didn't like him either.

Purely depth that we need. We need proper arms in the minors we can go to if needed.

Are you talking about myself when you tried saying from 2020-2023 the team had 3-4 good seasons... And to quote you "they were one of the best teams in the league" And that the team was a "Model".
