I think they will land Belly + Walker, but still.

Yeah for sure they'll get a masher 1B - having Rizzo there the past 2 years was embarassing for a team like the Yankees. I got a feeling that Bregman will be coming to our division too - NYY or BOS. We'll see.

I actually like that deal for the Brewers.

Can the Jays just steal the Brewers entire front office? That’s probably the best move the Jays can make this off-season.

To be fair they do shit, it just rarely works in the teams favour.

Shapiro has done a pretty great job, he built that world class complex in Dunedin, he renovated the Skydome, he's secured the budget to be a top 10 spending team. He built a world class analytics team. He gets a high score.

Atkins on the other hand has decimated our Farm system, to be fair Alex left it in pretty bad shape but Ross has done jack to improve the farm. The roster is a hot mess, he has embarrassed the franchise two years in a row by chasing unattainable players. Other players see this and wonder if Toronto is not good enough for Soto and Otani, why should I go there? Ros has mismanaged his relationships with Vlad and Bo, they should have been signed to an extension by now. Ross has been condescending to Jay fans, talking to us the stereotypical way an American talks to a Canadian, like we only have grades 1 through 3 and are basic morons. He has allowed mediocre play become acceptable.

Shapiros one significant failing is allowing Ross to mismanage the team for what 9 years now?

If Shapiro did everything he did but retained AA instead of showing insane faith in Atkins, he'd be a Masai-like diety in this town.

Unfortunately that one decision outweights all the good stuff he's done imo.

Devin Williams had quite a traumatic experience from the hands of Pete Alonso. Maybe it breaks him just like Albert Pujols broke Brad Lidge.

I think it was a circle change, according to Statcast he throws three pitches: a cutter, change up and a four seamer. The grip looks like a circle change.

His change is generally down in the zone and his four seamer is generally up.

Yea, the buck ultimately stops with Shapiro.

He hired Atkins. Atkins has been GM for 9 years now - so Shapiro by not firing Atkins shows that he endorses Atkins' overall body of work, his philosophies, etc. Also for the bigger trades, signings, etc, I'd imagine Shapiro was involved or aware of those decisions ahead of time.

I now know what Sens fans feel like, competing with Toronto and Montreal but in ball we are competing with Boston and NYY.... no one wants to go to Ottawa... kinda the same vibe with the Jays.

False. I’d rather live in Toronto than Boston.

Toronto is a pretty attractive place and we are consistently on the short list. When has Buffalo and Ottawa been on those shortlists?

The yankees i believe are better now with the additions they made instead of signing soto. Solid rotation, great closer and still have power in the lineup.

I hate the Yankees getting Williams - he would have been a great add for the Jays. Hopefully they can get one of the other available high-end reliever targets.

Bellinger? Meh. Assuming it actually happens, I guess. I'm sure he'll loft a bunch of lazy flyballs over the right field fence, but he's not an impact bat by any means. I would have been disappointed if the Jays had traded for him unless they gave up nothing and the Cubs covered a good chunk of his contract or took Springer back.
