Why's Houston blowing it up?

Bregman an FA, Tucker and Frambler FA’s next offseason, Soto market seems to have raised the price for elite talent. Just a guess, maybe they plan to compete this year, much of the Tucker return is MLB ready.

The yankees i believe are better now with the additions they made instead of signing soto. Solid rotation, great closer and still have power in the lineup.

Toronto is a pretty attractive place and we are consistently on the short list. When has Buffalo and Ottawa been on those shortlists?

Can you throw a 97mph fastball or a create cutter? Can you bat.300 or win a gold glove? Americans do not and I stress do not as a vast majority do not want to play for a ball team in another country.

I dont even know why im being singled out because I want to add offense and dont see the point over crying over everything other teams are doing. Closer isnt as high on my list of needs since I dont think a 75 win team "needs" a closer.

I also think our rotation could be good. If Gausman starts on time this spring, I think you're looking at a much better starting rotation as a whole.

I get the sense that Schneider is told what to do by the stats guys. I'm not 100% sure he has the latitude to set his own lineup. The playoff game a few years back when he pulled our SP when he was having a great game, Schneider seemed to suggest the decisions was made by someone else. I've read articles in the past that suggest the Jays advance stats nerds dictate who plays. Who gets AB's, when RP are called in, which RP they are to use, when the SP is to be pulled. I appreciate the value of data to make decisions but there is allowing data to blindly dictate what you do and then there is data that you use to inform you of the possibilities and then allowing yourself to use logic and baseball knowledge to decide what you do.

Another sign that Atkins and Shapiro think they are the smartest people in the room, lets hire bean counters to run a sports team, until they are gone and we get Baseball people in the Front Office this insane merri-go-round with the Jays will never stop.

I do feel like the stats factors in a bit from up top, although I still feel he has the final say, but they may persuade him a bit. One example imo was this last season when they traded Kikuchi and got Loperfido, and for some reason Schneider had him batting 2nd in the lineup all of a sudden with the Jays, when history showed he batted 7,8,9 only with the Astros, never anything higher, so I was questioning where are they getting this information he's a 2nd hole type of batter. Which playoffs are you talking about? The one when he pulled Gausman? Or the one when he pulled Berrios? I still remember when Chapman had to basically teach Schneider how to coach 2 seasons and ago, questioning him why he was allowing the pitcher to pitch to Ohtani.

My honest opinion on why Schneider continued to put Springer in the lead off spot last season, is due to this stat Springer has for most homeruns as a lead off hitter currently #2 with 60 behind Ricky Henderson who had 81, and wanting to help him get as many as he can in his career. It's just the fact though he's not capable of hitting as well as he has in the past anymore, and there was no other reason imo to be having one of your worst hitters in your lineup coming to the plate the most in games, if you're actually managing to win.

1 might have been fine before trading Horwitz for Gimenez. Unless Gimenez rewinds the clock 3 years with the bat 1 just isn't enough, and I don't see them getting anymore than that TBH. I'm ready for them to just blow it up.

Last year I was Shohei or blow it up. This year I was Soto or blow it up.

I'm pretty sure I don't want to give Vladdy what it will take to resign him. I think that contract will suck down the road, and if they don't resign him then what's the plan? Surely you have to blow it up then. Just blow it up now. Get a good package for Vlad at least.
