Boras seems to really be pushing the Mets to go to $700 tonight. He needs this after the fiasco last offseason was for his clients.

Jays are definitely going to make moves they are desperate. I just mean they should of spent their time on other things then soto. But i am interested to see what they do they only have 9 players signed right now. Then the arb guys

Apparently they were close on holmes but mets are going to give him a shot as a starter. Jays viewed him as a reliever
From a lot of reports if they miss out on Soto they will pivot to Santander and others. There are a lot of players available compared to last year.

From what I remember, the only reason Ohtani got as much as he did last year is because the Jays offered it and the Dodgers gave in and matched it at the last second.

If you're that close, I have a hard time seeing it as a waste of time, especially considering none of their other targets went off the board while they were waiting. So far, it's mostly the same deal this year in that the backup plans are still very much available (and, fortunately, also much better than last year).

With all the smoke about a decision coming tonight, I bet the best offer on the table is being given to the top teams to top and then the trigger gets pulled.
