I’m a big part of here’s doom and gloom, in fact!

Any chance RF is on the phone with Carolina about Grubauer?

Stranger things have happened. But I just don't see how a competing team would trade for him.
Yeah I think any hope for a trade would require a decent bit of desperation from the receiving team, which Carolina may or may not be feeling, and equally how much retention Francis and his superiors are willing to absorb in a deal.

Given the Kraken have never really done a retention deal, it’s hard to know where they land on it?

With the stuff about Gourde earlier today, it’s hard to shake the vibe that they’re still running this team as a marketing endeavor rather than a serious Stanley Cup pursuit?

The Eberle news suck and it's even "at least three months" according to the news by the team.

I am starting to think that spending some time in Coachella to get his mojo back may be the best move forward. He gets to play with some talented wingers like Sale, Firkus, which could help with that.

It's a bummer to see him not being able to produce after the way he finished off last season on the Kraken

Well, like I've said before.
If this team's anywhere near the playoff picture I wouldn't be surprised if they kept him.
And if you do that, you probably want to extend him to not lose him for nothing.

Though, it doesn't really make any sense given his age, dip in productaion and, like you've said, with all those forwards getting closer to the NHL down in CV.

But given how this team has operated and what Francis has said(make the playoffs every year) I'm not that surprised cause the plan seems to be to be "competitive" ending up as a playoff bubble team(unless some crazy trade happens or a prospect or two goes through the roof) for the foreseable future.

I’m a big part of here’s doom and gloom, in fact!

Sure.
It's just that the other side has a pretty good laugh about it.
Especially the Canes, who're not throwing out money on anything especially goaltending.

On top of that Gru's injury prone himself and they don't need more goalies like that.

What stuff about Gourde? I don’t see anything in the real news. Trade rumors? Discontent? Low ball offer from club?

Elliotte Friedman has said that the team probably wants to keep and re-sign him.

Is Campbell the powerplay coach? Lowry? Woods?

Whoever it is, they really need to try something else. We're at the quarter-pole now and the PP looks completely inept far far more than it looks dangerous.

Leaf-fan here! What is take of Seattle fans on Gourde, is he someone you'd be willing to part with? For what kind of price?

Toronto would most likely need a heavy retention, up to 50% - with salary coming back, again most likely Kämpf... who although is still very serviceable and a really good 4th line, 100% defensive + shorthanded situation player, makes a bit too much to be playing in a contending teams fourth line.

What are Seattle's needs? For example, Toronto has Niemelä, who is very nearly ready for NHL duty, a puck-moving defenceman who is a very good skater. Perhaps a pick on top of him and Kämpf?

Guess I failed to notice that Wright was scratched for the 3rd straight game. Not sure I love that. Give him the “wake up call” scratch, maybe two…but beyond that why not just send him down and let him work on his game ?

It’s not like his replacement has lit the world on fire.
Yeah exactly, something Utah does that I wish Francis / Hakstol / Bylsma would do? Play the kids, especially if your "greasy" vets are gonna come out flat every time they play a team with a winning record. Play. The. Kids.

Sigh. “With the thirteenth pick in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft….”

Well said. “Beautiful jersey”. Thanks. “What’s their record?” Um.

So it took all of 3 games for the Sprong story to stop being "fun". This is his level of play, and I'd rather see Winterton (or even Wright, if the alternative is the press box) on the RW of that second line.

This is the sort of crap that makes me think this team is a giant marketing experiment.

You’re bang on. Sprong doesn’t make the Kraken better. By any metric.

Sprong brings "excitement" in both zones. Once is good and the other is bad. Francis made the decision being well aware of that so that kind of shows his level of desperation.

I would like to see Winterton bought up but I bet his 1 game with 0 points and a -3 did enough to convince Francis that he does not deserve more time. The other prospects doing good in the AHL are Firkus and Sale and I definitely don't think they are ready for NHL minutes.

Roed started slow but has been better off late. Morrison has just been .. meh. So we are not exactly overflowing with callup options who can help right now. Which is what I feel like they want.

Winterton should be the next call up and hoping he gets his permanent shot sooner than later

Panthers fan here, Montour was one of my favourite players on the team, so just wondering how he's been for you guys so far since I don't see much discussion about it.
