Trade!

To BrockH:
6th round pick

To CaptainBo:
Evgeni Malkin
11th round pick

Brock knows how to negotiate.
While I have no buyer's remorse at the moment...
I am still impressed by his haul.
He is a last minute seller too...
With possibly more moves to come.

I knew I had to watch out for Bo.
He said he was satisfied...
But I never quite believed him.
He is a stealth one.
;)

Another trade:
To Vanilla:
Letang
Varlamov
My 12th (I don't think that's a live pick?)

To BrockH:
Carlson
Vanilla's 6th

And with that, I'm calling it a night...I'll be looking for a 1 for 1 trade on Kane in the offseason. Hit me up!

Good trade.
The rich gets richer.

I wish I knew Letang was truly available.
I probably could have matched the offer.

Just want to say this was one of the most active trade deadline we've had in a long time...and the deals didn't just happen today but started a while back. Lots of messages exchanges back and forth...including with those who wasn't able to get a deal done.

Appreciate it all with your activity to keep this league running and competitive as one of the best keeper league in the world, even enduring the challenges in real life through the pandemic. Hopefully post pandemic we can get even better and more competitiveness and action.

Good luck all in your respective runs and rebuilds!

Man...
I wanted Pavelski too.

Oh well.
This deadline became more active than I thought.

I blame Brock for the high prices.
That guy is either a stock broker in real life...
Or he sold his soul to the devil.
The man is stone cold.

How do we propose rule changes?
One thing I want to see is to cancel the waiting period for trades altogether.
It would make more sense to be a year round aspect...
And not just for the trade deadline.

Thoughts?

I would keep the waiver pickup waiting period though.
I am fine with it.

I'm pretty sure I wrote a rule change proposal process into the CBA...just going from memory though. Did you give it a look?

I will take a look.
Only one other person had given any reactions...
So I might not bother.
I believe it needs to be unanimous...
And I am way too lazy to wage a campaign.

what hell did I do?

I suddenly am 3 players down on my roster? Did I drop people and not realise it?

I would be in favor of reviewing it at least...I can see both sides of the coin though. I like the idea of immediacy with trades, but it would seem there is also an opportunity (albeit rare) for shenanigans...collusion to impact the outcome of weekly scores.

Still going from memory, but I think it's unanimous for a mid-season change and a 2/3rds majority for an off-season change. So you basically need 8 votes yes...I think

I will see if I want to bring it up again during the off-season.
I can work with either...
But I thought it made more sense to just forego the trade waiting period.

I do not think Sanderson can be picked up yet.
He has not even appeared in a game.

I was going to pick him up as well, but I wasn't sure about his availability, normally you just see the N/A if they aren't available, but he is also injured so I'm not sure how that all worked.

Just looked and it shows that he's on the Ottawa roster on capfriendly...so it seems like he's eligible to be picked up.

I thought the rule for our league was that he has to at least appear in a game.
As you wrote...
He is also injured...
And no one knows exactly the extent of his injury yet.

We can wait for CRD to rule on it...
And I will respect whatever he decide.
We do need a clear definition though...
Because Owen Power could be in the same boat.
