I know I'm being repetitive but everyday Cronin remains coach is a day lost in player development. You did not go into a full rebuild for most of your young players to stagnate. Congrats on getting something out of Brett Leason, totally worth it!!

This is exactly what will happen, instead of admitting he f***ed up the coach the GM is gonna move players who have regressed under him, then leak stories to the media
It’s absurd- our high draft picks who were supposedly on a nice development track have started to get eclipsed by similarly aged grinder prospects. It’s just not adding up.

I mean what ever you think of Seravelli, you have to admit that in recent memory have we ever heard as much about a coach? No one even talked about Babcock like this and he was literally let go twice because of his antics.
Exactly this. Every single player, fan, exec anywhere would want nothing to do with Cronin.

Classic “If it walks like one, maybe it is one” scenario

I actually think something will change.

Right now every single player that Verbeek has acquired is failing.

Either he has missed the mark on all of them or the coaching is failing to get them to play at the level they are capable.

“Development” is overblown. I’m so tired of hearing that word.

They all know how to play. They just need to put in a position to succeed; and move past their youthful mistakes.

I agree. I actually now think there is a decent chance (20-30%) chance they move on from Cronin during the season. Previously thought there was no way. Ducks are entering a really tough stretch of games.

It's pathetic how we can't score more than a goal or two. We have very little ability to sustain pressure. Now Cronin is showing his true colours and is really starting to favour his vets. I thought there were vibes last year which intimated fondness for vets and grinder types and now it's being realized in terms of actual lineup decisions at the expense of our young guys.

It was essentially the personification of Twitter. People making assumptions based off of 5 second clips and having long discussions based on what they guess that clip means.
Not sure what the first sentence is supposed to mean. Is there some kind of a political statement there?

It’s people giving rational opinions on why this team seems to have very good young talent but can’t seem to make any progress achieving results with any of them. Nobody is forced to agree with it but given those guys aren’t Ducks fans they have no bias one way or the other.

It just means that people hop on the bandwagon when someone posts something that makes a situation look a certain way, even though there’s no real evidence (like the Zegras lip reading thing). People see him score a goal where he doesn’t celebrate and suddenly everyone is saying how he lost his love for the game or whatever. Maybe that’s true, maybe it’s not, but people make up their mind about it and run with it and go on to create their own narratives about what’s happening.

I guess my biggest issue is that the people in the video made it pretty clear that they don’t watch the Ducks at all (and I wouldn’t expect them to). Yet they saw this one short clip of Zegras and came to a bunch of different conclusions. That’s the kind of surface level analysis I would expect to see from people on Twitter (the original Zegras clip has hundreds of responses saying similar things). I’m just tired of the “Zegras look sad, he must hate being Duck” narrative that everyone is throwing around. Again, maybe that is actually the case, but it’s still a pretty big leap to make from such little information.

The comments made by the Sharks players right before (or was it after) Quinn got fired were something along the lines of: "We dont really know where we are supposed to be" or whatever which is eerily similar to the comments made from our players regarding Cronins system earlier.

I do like it when players and coaches get a long-ish leash but that entails showing some sort of progress. As it stands right now, atleast in my eyes, the team is regressing at a rapid rate.

Cronin probably needs to go right now.

Yeah I’ve given Cronin the benefit of the doubt but…
