I wish Derek Lee would ask PV about these comments. Someone needs to push PV with a little pressure to actually try and defend Cronin.
We’ll see. It’s obvious Verbeek was going to give Cronin a couple years all along. This is PV’s hire and he’s going to make sure he gets a fair shake.

This season is massive for Cronin, particularly the start. If things start off real bad then I’m going to assume he’s a lame duck

Those comments by Lybuschkin are a real real bad sign. It’s not enough on its own to get someone fired - he even said he thinks Cronin’s a good coach - but I don’t like this trend

The truth is . Like someone said earlier.. He is not an NHL coach.. Plain and Simple.. Verbeek took a swing and missed.. Problem is Verbeek needs to read the room.. By the looks of it.. The players have tuned him out.. Thats not a good sign..

I’m definitely not ruling out lybushkin just being malcontent for having to play for a cellar dweller like us - even though he seems to have a super valid point is that how the rest of the team actually felt?

As an aside - I work for bosses like that at my job: complete micromanagers that interject their personal lives as some sort of motivation practice. Completely toxic.

Just don't see how anyone here can continue to push/want Cronin. I questioned the hire right off the bat when Verbeek went with someone completely new to the position over others (at the time) that were proven.

We have the potential and the talent here, but he has not come across as someone who can push the team towards any type of relevancy. Finishing one point above Eakins is supposed to be some sort of 'victory' with certain posters - even though they were both awful coaches. He seems to lack any type of line-matching, game awareness or tactical ability.

I know that we are in a rebuild and there are growing pains, but man this is starting to become frustrating. Cronin even admitting he let the group 'coach themselves' with the last while of the season basically tells me even he himself gave up on trying.

The truth is . Like someone said earlier.. He is not an NHL coach.. Plain and Simple.. Verbeek took a swing and missed.. Problem is Verbeek needs to read the room.. By the looks of it.. The players have tuned him out.. Thats not a good sign..

Never looked like an NHL coach. 10+ years of assisting coaching and not once was he thought of HC material until now. This clown show can't end soon enough! :baghead::baghead::baghead::baghead::baghead:

Seems awfully whiney from Bush honestly. We all knew Cro was a hardass. Probably the first bit of information we learned about him.

It seems less like micromanaging and more like a weird twist on toxic positivity? Like he was trying to get them to play better through psychology instead of through hockey. Either way it definitely reeks of a coach that was floundering a bit. Can only hope that he has learned from it.

I have to imagine listening to hours of talks would be especially boring/uncomfortable/pointless for a guy like Boosh who might not have English as a first language.

Last off-season, the Ducks were penalized for forcing a prospect to attend summer work outs mafia-style. Then in pre-season we noticed full practice sessions before a game, including one full practice at home, hop on a plane for an away game, and play that night. This off-season, we get reports of propaganda speeches after practice and before looking at videos last pre-season. In zombie like unison, "Change the culture. Play through injury." Rinse and repeat. We had Carlsson and Minty saying they haven't played through injury until now and that's how you build character.

The video of Minty and Carlsson talking about injuries starts at 6:06.
