Who would you target with a 1st and goulash?
Not sure cause I dont really know who's available.

In terms of UFAs... Brock Nelson would be one guy I'd have a high amount of interest in.

Scott Laughton would be a really interesting one actually that I'd probably move a 1st + Goulash for. His $3M would be very affordable for 3C and allow Colton to shift permanently to the wing.

On the Defensive side... Honestly, a lot harder to find decent fits, mostly because I think what the Avs probably need doesn't necessarily constitute that big of a package... More like one of those assets + a smaller piece.

But in theory I would love to grab Mario Ferraro if he is available for like Goulash + 2025 2nd or something. Someone who can play 3LD but also jump up into the Top 4 if needed, and ideally with a little term on the deal.

What's your thoughts on dellandrea?
How about zamula?

I just don't see Philly trading with us after the ryjo debacle.

Laughton is even less a center than Colton.

Pretty unbelievable how much Mittelstadt has regressed since the beginning of the year. Every part of his game is awful right now. He's not shooting at all either. Obviously this team believed he could be the long term play at 2C, but I have to imagine they're having some doubts right now.

I don't see a reason to replace Mitts just because of a slump. Even MacKinnon and Makar have had slumps this year. Kinda feels like people always want to have one player to put all the blame on.

Sharks fans are ready to move Ferraro for 2nd rounder. He'd be a good target.

This is exactly what differentiates a low end 1C from a high end 2C. Consistency and points generation. Mitts being a 60 pt #2C who is solid at both ends of the rink is exactly what this team needs.

Now you could possibly be arguing his slump is his normal and earlier was a hot streak. But there's no evidence to that argument yet.

not sure they believed he only got a 3 year deal

He isn't good at both ends though , he is terrible defensively.

He hit 59 points 1 time and was long considered a bust

You clearly have an agenda on Mitts, but let's entertain. Mitts' 5v5 xGA/60 is 2.47 this season. 10 forwards for the Avs have played 100+ minutes. His 2.47 ranks 5th. Which doesn't sound great, but lacks context. Who is ahead of him? LOC, Ivan, Kelly, Kiviranta... guys who are not playing the matchups, nor minutes, that Mitts is. The guys behind him...Rants at 2.5, Mack at 2.68, Nuke at 2.91, and Lehky at 2.98. The guys who have been terrible defensively this year are the top guys (sans Rants), not Mitts.

I do , I can't stand the player and you can spin it anyway you want . The dude is weak, slow and -17. Now the Avs still need a 2C.

No.other forward is even close to.-17. If they were we could call it a bad team thing but they aren't. He's the only one

Which is hilarious because when he REALLY gives a shit, he's unstoppable.

I remember last night after he saw Lehkonen get hammered by J.T. Miller his "give a shit" meter skyrocketed. He spent the entire next shift chasing down Brock Boeser, gave him a clear interference should shiver, chased Boeser down defensively, threw a super late hit in open ice on him, then came back down the ice and dangled two Canucks before just losing the puck.

When he's angry, he's unbelievable at BOTH ends of the rink lmao.

+/- is a useless stat, and more so when you look at the empty net and goaltending the team has gotten. Mitts is getting deserved heat, defense isn't the issue though.

IMO this is why he's so frustrating. If the effort was ever there on a Lehky sort of level, Rants might be a consistent 60g 135p player. When he gives a F, there are probably less than 5 players more impactful than him. But when he doesn't, he can bleed chances. Kucherov is the same way, just in a different style.

Also he can have 3 of those shifts in a game and get 3 points... while his other 20+ shifts were utter garbage.

I love angry Rants. Cussing everyone and the refs out, throwing big hits, driving the net, battling defensively.

Hilarious to watch it happen, too. He SKATES angry.

What's hilarious about angry Rants is that his balance is still terrible. He'll dangle his way through 3 players, run through another guy, and then someone gives him a gentle push and he falls over. I swear, for a guy as strong and as skilled as he is, the random falling is an enigma
