CMac can't trade Nuke fast enough.
I'm glad that I'm not the only one who noticed that Mack's play took a huge dip as soon as Nuke started playing.

Not that I think he does that on purpose but it's a weird coincidence.

I'm glad that I'm not the only one who noticed that Mak started playing real bad as soon as Nuke started playing.

Not that I think he does that on purpose but it's a weird coincidence.

Also, all of the other wingers (Rants, Lehky, Drouin) have had a chance to play with MacK except for Nuke.

Nuke doesn’t even play on PP1 either.

MacK and Nuke are almost never on the ice together, and yes, I know he assisted Nuke’s empty net goal the other night. He also didn’t go congratulate him or celebrate with him, Nuke skated straight to the bench and sat down.

So I'll just leave this here but personally, I just believe that the stuff that's said to appease the media is completely different than how some actually feel and it shows on the ice :

CMac can't trade Nuke fast enough.

I have watched every single game this season and Mack has just been shit the past 5 games.

Also every team just keep manning him so effectly he cant do anything with the puck but pass it. And the first line has been so out of sync lately that when his passing its 90% of the time intercepted by someone else.

Also propably something to do with the away games but man his always playing against the best of others or some line spefic to hinder our 1st.

Nuke is not the problem. If anything the 2nd line is now an asset. Too bad it got broken since Druin is out.

Incoming MacKinnon 5 point night….
No mention of how Rantanen was one of the nhl stars of the week last week.

MacK wants to win, if there’s anyone deterring his play it’s the dog shit we put in net on a nightly basis not one of this teams best players.

MacK definitely wants to win, but we also have seen him get into moods where he is mentally in his own way. He tries a lot of solo rushes right into traffic, gives the puck away a ton, and is visibly pouty out there.

Nuke has been on PP1.. they've been trying him and Drouin in the slot off and on.

What also happened fairly immediately was that Mikko was taken on Mack's wing.

I personally just think Mack is in a burnt out phase, which is something we see regularly every damn year.

I haven't looked, but did his minutes also decrease when we got two top six forwards back?

The team just feels a bit disjointed right now, which makes sense. They had a bunch of guys out to start the season, some of them have come back, some are still out. The team hasn't really had a chance to gel. That combined with how piss poor the goaltending has been has led to a really rocky start to the season.

Shocking... by far the most competitive player on the team(or league even) would hate the guy that very decisively f***ed this teams chance at being competitive. Who could've seen that coming.

Yes, last 5 games he has been down to around 22 minutes vs 24-25.

So do we think there is an issue with Nuke being on the team while Mack is on the team?

When Colton comes back I feel like Nuke could/should be moved still. I get how important he is, but to me they get goaltending squared and that will level things out. They don't need 6-7 goals a night if they have some goaltending. He doesn't look like himself, he didn't own up to it, it'll happen again.

They've proven they can play good hockey without Nuke, and unfortunately it sure seems like his presence is having a much more divisive effect on the team than any of us feared. They need to do everything possible to move on from him.

I don't think we come to that conclusion just yet.

Just gonna put out there the one huuuuuuuuuuuuuuge gamble in goal no one is talking about.

Mind you, even I think it's too risky, but if they can't seem to get Anaheim to budge, then they've gotta consider this as a real possibility.

I don't know, something is off. It's pretty visible, and I don't think the language from players at the end of last year really supported this.

To me the organization has a few problems affecting the room and overall team right now.

1. Nuke - He should've been dealt with months ago. The language from everyone at the end of last season really was telling. He's in the lineup because the Avs didn't get anything done here. I know if I worked on a team with an employee like this it would cause issues internally.

2. Landeskog and Leadership - I get that he's important to the team, but this team needs a new leader. The legend of Landy approach is f***ing lame. If he comes back, give it back to him, but for now they need to move on. They need a leader on the ice and in the room. He might come back, he might be effective... but who knows. Keep him involved if you want too, but consider him retired until he proves otherwise.

3. Rantanen - This should've either been done already or they should've traded him last year. It can't feel good as a player to know a top guy might be gone at the end of the year, or that there won't be a suitable replacement.

4. Goaltending - I'm not going to beat this drum to death. Should've been dealt with during last season or at the TDL, or in the off-season, but we're about a year and a half too late on this shit with no options. Figure it the f*** out.

5. GM/Management - Too f***ing slow. Get shit done and quit trying to bandaid everything. You hit some home runs, nice job. Take some risks and get this team the pieces it needs. Quit living on the few home runs you've had and help this team for once before it's too late.

6. Drafting - Get some real people in there. They are awful.

Just gonna put out there the one huuuuuuuuuuuuuuge gamble in goal no one is talking about.

At this point, i'll applaud them for atleast trying. Walker looked good to start with the Avs, but sucked in the PO's. I appreciated the effort though.

Seravalli said on his pod today that the Avs can't afford Gibson, and said that why Blackwood has been ok this year, the Avs should send a 2nd round pick to Calgary for Dan Vladar (gross)
Vladar is great, why gross? He's far from perfect, but is the best of the ones that might actually be available. I would take Vladar over Gibson since I am weary of when players quit on clubs. I do give John the benefit of the doubt since he's been stuck in suckage for as long as I can remember, but he wouldn't be my first choice.

I am a big Jiricek fan, but he would be a no-go if I were a team's GM. Screams like Zadorov 2.0 where he's pushing himself to the NHL when he's clearly not ready.

Would you do Jiricek + Elvis to Avs for Gulyayev + Georgiev + a pick? Maybe get a 3rd team involved as George isn't gonna waive to go to CBus. Maybe send Georgiev to Carolina and they send a pick to CBus?

I'm not saying I know how Mack feels about Nuke, but I'll just say the Avs (especially the top guys) don't celebrate empty net goals. In fact they often look depressed after they score 1. So I wouldn't read too much into that part.
