Kings willing to move first-round pick? — The Fourth Period
As the Kings look to acquire a scoring winger, the team appears willing to move its 2025 1st round pick.
Among Others might be a good pickup.
Like tanev doesn’t do things for attention. You do realize he’s building an image right? If you lick your own helmet you should be banned and immediately given an IQ test
How soon after the Avs’ disastrous 48 point season did they make the POs? IIRC, the answer was pretty quickly.
Well, they are not. They will continue to retool. They refuse to bottom out the way Chicago has. Which I love. They'll be mediocre for a whileIf St Louis is smart, and they decide to trade someone like Parayko, they should commit to a rebuild to stockpile high draft picks, and that means missing the playoffs the next little while.

You can hardly even call those travesties bagels, considering what they do to them. And burn every bagel joint in town.
Obviously tongue in cheek, but at the same time, the Avs need to target player who can generate offense at even strength. It’s unlikely we acquire a guy for the top PP, so we need even strength play drivers.
I really hope we don't get Tanev.

Looks like NJ definitely needs a C now

Nelson a target for the Avalanche? — The Fourth Period
If Colorado goes after a No.2 centre, could Brock Nelson be a prime target for GM Chris MacFarland?www.thefourthperiod.com
And they can take Wood back as wellWe’ll give them Mitts for a 1st round pick
Mid-rebuild? Sure but you should still look at the changes in the roster from the 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 seasons. And I’m pretty sure the Avs weren’t making the POs without getting G and trading Duchene. What a difference to the D adding G was. He was the perfect player for JB’s transition game. That wasn't the start of their rebuild in 2016-17 for the Avs. That was mid rebuild. Followed by a re-tool when they traded Duchene for Girard+ at the start of 2017-18.
The Avs rebuild started with MacKinnon's draft in 2013.
Roy willed a shitty defense into the playoffs and lost in round 1 the first year. Then they missed the playoffs the next three years. Then made the playoffs, but lost in round 1 in 2017-18. Then made it to the second round in 2018-19 five years after the start of their rebuild.
If you commit to a rebuild, you're commiting to sucking for a little while, and missing the playoffs, so that you stockpile high draft picks.
Not sure when Chicago committed to their rebuild, but it was probably when they traded Keith in the summer before 2021-22. They're on their way to missing the playoffs for the fourth time in a row since then. Would be 5 if you start it at 2020-21.

lol not even Seth f***ing Jones wanted anything to do with the Avs
