Do you realize how f***ing fat MacKinnon would get for training camp knowing the entire core is gone?
He'd come in at 245.

This is some fan fiction I can get behind. Much better than Spock and Kirk making out Dan fiction.I'll raise ya..
Crosby desides at 4 Nations he wants to move. Comes here 50% retained, Mack forgets Mikko existed. Jones also fits because Mitts is gone.
Necas and Crosby have great chemistry.
Landeskog comes back, and is awesome.
Win

Good. Then he'll become the new Tim Kerr and actually SHOOT the puck and score 100 per season.Do you realize how f***ing fat MacKinnon would get for training camp knowing the entire core is gone?

Sabres have all the pieces for EP. If they do offer Cozens and Byram no one is gonna top that.Apparently Pettersson was the one going to the Canes before they pivoted to Mikko. Friedman mentions the Sabres as a team to watch for EP now.
Poor guy might go from having to deal with that scrub JT to possibly being sent to Buffalo.
Can we get Crosby and Marchand for Nate’s psyche? He’d be the happiest human being in the history of happy human beings
Avs won’t be accumulating cap space.I don't expect the Avs to make another move until near the trade deadline. Let this current roster gel and see what the need is. Also to accumulate cap space and see how Nuke and Landy's return timeline look. And see what teams drop out of the east race.

You underestimate the Avs abitility to accumulate injuries

I'd really love to see them acquire at least 1 bottom-pair D before the 4 Nations tourney so that we don't have to keep watching the turd carousel of a 3rd paring every night
So you see the glass as half full?Imagine:
It's July, 2026.
Mikko Rantanen is playing for the Dallas Stars, Gabriel Landeskog has already announced that he's never coming back and will finish his contract on LTIR.
Martin Necas has underwhelmed to the tune of 50 points but is being courted like he's Andre Burakovsky, Casey Mittelstadt has literally morphed into Ryan Johansen and Cale Makar has told the Avs he wants nothing to do with them and will be signing a 7 year, 112 million dollar contract with the Calgary Flames.
Good times ahead.

It’s fun thinking about it. It’s also not 2010 anymore either. He would be a great add today, but I would imagine he would not come cheap. It's as possible as Crosby coming here
Out of curiosity. Has anyone checked on Seth Jones to see if he's feeling better?
I almost believed we were going to see something done with him at some point last night as well.
Man with our bit of cap space we have I sure would love to find a way to bring Naz back now. I bet the locker room would welcome the move as well.
There's a couple Flames fans on the main boards that have suggested Mittelstadt + Ritchie for Kadri + Andersson.
That would be a quality move for us.
Needed to not be signed in the first placeNeeded to go about a year ago tbh
Colton is a bad contract?Looking at the big picture, most of the trades and UFA signings in the CMac era didn't go well for the Avs.
His track record isn't good with Wood, Colton, Ryjo, Mitts, Tatar, Brannstrom and all his deadline rentals.
Newhook trade was good but he turned it into a bad contract (Colton) and used the late 1st on a player that may never play in the NHL.
Hopefuly the Blackwood, Parsnip and Necas acquisitions are the beginning of a new era.
