Looking at Capwages...

This feels so unnecessary and kinda hurts us.

It's not like the Sharks needed 476k of cap space ffs.

if it was the difference between the deal happening and not..... shrug.
it was obviously important to the sharks for whatever reason.

my heart can't handle another blockbuster

When you have the worst goalie in the league you do what you gotta do to get rid of him.
I'm not blaming the Avs if they didn't have a choice, I'm blaming the Sharks for making this mandatory when they have tons of cap space that they aren't going to use. It's just so ownership can save 450k.

Yep play Necas next to Mac and Drou and figure out how to get a good 2C.
CMac said he’s gonna look to improve the team, so he’s not done. I loved hearing that
I need the dominos to fall. I’m gonna die
Spitballing here; With the newfound extra cap: Mitts+ for Kadri back? I'd do it.

Something is bound to happen with Chicago, though. Donato and Murphy, with the latter 50% retained? Or Jones with hopefully atleast 2,5 retained? Between the last two options I'd go fir the Jones one, to be honest.

Newfound extra cap? We gained 1 million dollars. One million.

That's my assumption too. The additional Avs / Hawks part was too difficult to work out, so they just pulled the trigger on what they had to get that locked in before someone has a season ending injury

If there is a separate trade, I would expect it would be seem a tad lopsided in Chicago's favor to account for their clear L in the three-way
Chicago only took on $250k in real salary, and actually gained over $1m in capspace, while pocketing a 3rd round pick. Good deal for them.

Once Nuke returns, this is my preferred set of lines:

Drouin - MacKinnon - Nichuskin
Lehkonen - Mittlestadt - Necas
Colton - Parssinen - LOC
Wood - Drury - Kivi
Kelly

Let's say Landeskog returns for the playoffs, which I think is the plan right now. Someone smarter than me will have to determine if we have enough space to activate Landeskog at the deadline, but I doubt it. Obviously CMac isn't done making moves and will need to use the majority of that for breathing room.

With Landeskog:

Drouin - MacKinnon - Nichuskin
Landeskog - Mitts - Necas
Colton - Parssinen - Lehkonen
Wood - Drury - LOC
Kelly, Kivi

Notes:
- I put players in what I feel is their most natural position. Maybe swap Landeskog and Colton because Landy won't be handling top 6 minutes
- That's the CMac is talking about, all 4 of those lines are reliable.
- Obvious moves would be to improve on Parssinen or Mitts. Parssinen is the most 'out of place' in the lineup IMO. With Drury, maybe they aren't so committed to Parssinen and look to flip him for a legit 3C. With losing Rants though, i like his size in the lineup. Also with moving Rants, I would say we need to improve on Mitts and get a LH shooter for the PP (or just put Toews there)
- Other obvious needs are an improvement on the bottom pair, or on the 2nd pair to send Manson down, and that's our team
