There's some theories going around that Tkachuk won't ask for a trade until the summer. By waiting, his trade protection will kick in which will give him a bit more sway in where he ends up.

Boston wouldn't be able to anyway. He's going to cost a fortune and i'm not trading Pastrnak for him since that deal doesn't do much to make the team actually better as a whole. Just swapping one part for another.

I'm not trading Pasta period. Flaws? Sure. Elite? Yes. Bleeds Bruins. Love the player, love the man. Not captain material but he is lockeroom glue, hell of an offensive talent, media darling and a Bruins ambassador.

For those who still miss Gryz ...maybe this will help alleviate those feelings

click @ 8:09 to see Riley Smith #91 manhandle Gryz #24 at the blueline that leads to the Rangers winning goal

Can't imagine how Drury has gone about all this has sat well with a Rangers locker room that already sounded like it was on the verge of falling apart.

It's one thing to trade a guy, but to essentially weaponize the media and then use what is a loophole that has started to gain traction amongst GMs. Barry Trotz did the same thing to Ryan McDonagh if memory serves which is how he ended up in Tampa again. Simple fix for this is guys are just going to start asking for full NMCs instead so this isn't something the league needs to step in and fix like the cap circumvention of years past.

People want consequences but the truth is, there probably won't be any. The Rangers play in arguably the most glamorous/prestigious market in north american pro sports. For every guy they dick around, there's two others willing to ignore it so they can play there. We already sort of seen this play out with Vegas too. Treated players like disposable objects and yet it didn't stop people from wanting to be there.

As for Shesterkin, i don't think any goalie is worth that type of money. Guys like Hellebyuck and Swayman imo are already pushing it being up in the 8s but 11.5 is nuts for a position who literally cannot win a game by themselves. Already saw this play out last decade with Carey Price in Montreal.
great post, Sweeney/Neely combo rightfully takes their shots from fans here here and hasn`t presented an unblemished record of botching something but I don`t recall players leaving Boston under them who said they were treated like crap in the same fashion Trouba appears to have been as far as how this was handled

This will not sit well with Sway.
my sources tell me he already blew up Cam`s beeper with calls last night :sarcasm:

How many rounds has that got us?

Not that he's the issue but we need a change in a big way.

Good old Esposito and Vandais for Park and Rattele type trade ...cap has screwed those types of trades for the most part. I'd part ways with Carlo for an offensive upgrade ...we have some D depth and Carlo is decent and under a great contract. Not sure what that gets us ...Carlo + Freddy might be interesting though

Matthew Tkachuk scored a goal assisted by Tomas Nosek…lol
I know the logo on the chest means a whole heck of a lot when going to battle, but something about going at a guys family just seems way off base to me.

For all we know, Tkachuk could’ve made good on things and patched it up a week later, or once Nosek arrived in Florida even. But that whole thing is uncomfortable for me as an outsider.

100%

No issues with him going after Nosek but leave the wives/kids out of it

Yes. If only they had fired Jim Montgomery earlier. Then they could have hired Jim Montgomery.

Now they're stuck with Jim Montgomery.
All I can say is that I am delighted beyond measure that Jim Montgomery, whom I wish well, is no longer the head coach of the Boston Bruins.

To quote Harry send in another context (signing Kevin Stevens after his career altering, courier-ending faceplant while with the P Penguins), "A marriage made in heaven that quickly went to hell."

Harry sure had a way with words, didn't he?

Sinden couldhave said the same about Joe Mullen, the guy from Chicago who never played one game for the Bruins after the lockout; and best forgotten, LaPoint for 5 million while he was president of the Bruins and OC the manager.

At least Patrice received a billet and and education in how to be a professional in the NHL.

So there's that.

Tkachuk is a stud and if you think the Bruins wouldn't trade Pasta for him I think you would very disappointed.

Personally I would love that trade, I think Cam would two.

Ownership was going to sign Lapoint regardless of harry'e push back. That was the Bruins owner getting over on the Wings owner.

That signing was the Jacobs doing. Harry didn't like it one bit, he loved the player not the contract.
