Not saying they know something, but announcers always talk to opposing teams and the Preds announcers mentioned tonight that Avs are hopeful that Landeskog will return around Christmas. E: Do want to add that Preds announcers are awful, worse than ours and that says something.

They also said Toews had missed the last 4 games. :(

We've gone from Landy starts the season with the team, to "a possibility" of seeing him in playoffs. It's so over.

I think you've misconstrued things, that CMac interview was from 10 months ago hoping that he would be back for the playoffs in April this year (2024). This is not saying he's only a possibility for playoffs 2025.

Nothing has changed other than he's been less public with his skating. That could be entirely deliberate. It could be a sign of a setback. It could be any number of things, it does not necessarily mean there's a problem.

That is true, but I only mentioned that because McNab normally used to always talk to the opposing team's announcers/GM/coaches to get a feel of the Avs opposition. I would think other announcing teams do similar scouting to "cover all bases" when conducting their job.

The Lonzo Ball timeline is thrown around here all the time.

So if that's the case December would be the month for Landy to come back.

However what people fail to mention is the couple months leading up to Ball's return he was all over the place in terms working out etc. there was tangible evidence of him progressing.

Landy has fallen off the face of the planet. I get the Avs are Fort Knox when it comes to injury status. But it's a bit odd that we literally don't see a thing or hear any updates.

At this point if Landy is on the Lonzo timeline he should be out there skating, and if he is actually skating the Avs really shouldn't be hiding it. It's fueling negative speculation.

There's zero insensitive for the Avs to hide Landeskog at this point in time, especially when he was out there skating months ago. This isn't a playoff situation where we could keep the other team guessing or something.

So I don't buy the skating in secret thing (unless he's skating in Sweden or in Toronto and no one noticed but that would be surprising).

Exactly. Which is why to me personally it's concerning.

It's almost a boy who cried wolf situation at this point.

I think at this point the organization needs to bit more honest and forthcoming regarding the situation. It's kind of ridiculous at this point.

It is my hope that it's an elaborate plan to stash Landy until the playoffs in order to play cap games.
Returning straight to playoffs after two years out is probably a bit too much, even though I'd be all for cap schenanigans.

Edit: it would be three years. Woah how time flies.

People here have forever accepted that the Avs operate in secrecy yet are now asking for transparency regarding Landeskog?

We don't even know what injury Jonathan Drouin has; he's been gone for an entire month.
Drouin is skating with the team, we know exactly where he is.

The comparison you're looking for with Landy is when Colin Wilson disappeared. That's as close as it gets.

You like to pick out things that have the most minimal similarities and claim that they are similar. I genuinely do not understand why.

We know Landeskog's injury. We know he has been skating. We know even last season he was being hidden by the Avs and skating on his own at times. We know that Landeskog nor the Avs have stated any setback has occurred.

Yet you continue trying to create this narrative that something must have gone majorly wrong. I do not understand it.

Landeskog is gonna be a 32 year old who hasn't played professionally in 3 years. Even if he returns I'm expecting moreso forsvergs return from a bad injury where he plays 10 games and then is done. Concentrate on the future and let Landy go.

Im not overly concerned about lamdeskog this season, mostly for 2 reasons.
He’s either able to come back, or he isn’t and we’ll likely know soon enough before the trade deadline.

The deadline is March 7th. I think we’ll have a clear picture of what’s going on with him in the next 4 months. March would put him on a 21-22 month timeline from the time of surgery. If he’s still not able to go, it’s quite doubtful he ever will be.

Regardless of outcome, clarity at this point is what we need most.
