Kiersted pots an ENG and Charlotte bounces back with a 4-0 to even the weekend series vs Wilkes Barre.

Was on the backs of Schwindt (natural hatter) and Gibson shutout though.
Gibson stopped all 30 shots for his 2nd win on the year.
Will boost his stats which were pretty bad.
3.66 GAA and .899 sv%, 1-3-0.

Charlotte move to 5-5-1 on the year.

Another 3 game weekend for Charlotte, they finish up against the Bears.

Kinda surprised Kinnear wouldn't bump Schwindt up to 2nd line beside Hepo and Deni after his big night.
He's earned a promotion even before the hatter last night.

Gildon back in today.

Charlotte was down 1 in the 1st but two very late PP goals has them up 2-1.

Hepo (4th) and Priskie (2nd) assist on the 1st one, Priskie (3rd) and Denisenko (3rd) help on the 2nd goal.

Denisenko (4th) with primary assist on 3rd goal just 44 seconds into 2nd.

The PP is on fire today, Noel (4th) with primary assist on the 4th goal for Charlotte, the 3rd PPG out of 5 opportunities.

Add fighter to Schwindt's tool belt, dropped the gloves in the 2nd.

Checkers up 4-1 after 40 mins.
Their PP was ranked 11th coming into today so it's likely inside the top 10 now.

A 4th PPG by Charlotte and they're up 5-1, Hepo (5th) with his 2nd assist and Denisenko (5th) with his helper hatter.
The PP was 4 for 7 today.

A late Bears goal makes it 5-2, Charlotte takes it and 4 out of 6pts on the 3 game weekend.

Regarding Denisenko:

First 7 games: 1 goal
Last 5 games: 1 goal, 5 assists.
Heponiemi also has a goal and 5 assists in his last 5 games.

Juolevi and Ludvig didn't play.

They move to 6-5-1 after first 12 games, stuck in this:

L,W,W,OTL,L,W
L,W,L,L,W,W pattern.

They're scoring at a near 4 GF/G pace which is inside top 10 as well as their top 10 GA/G. Looks real promising for buy low/boom later hype so far? :dunno:

Glad to see there's some stuff about Schwindt in here. I just looked up our AHL stats on eliteprospects (like I do every once in a while) and I was shocked to see we had a 20-year-old with 6 goals and 8 points in 12 games. I'm even more shocked that he's a 4C. I would have thought he was playing 1RW.

This is gonna be huge for our cap situation next year. I think there's a high chance that Tippett is a cap casualty this coming summer (with his stat line, he'll demand $3m+) If we have a two-way C/RW on an ELC who can finish, he might be a good fit next to Bennett and Huberdeau as the defensive safety valve and face-off support.

Schwindt reminds me of a Luostarinen and Lundell mashup. Love that he's a right hand shot. Sourdif is too.

Luo is 6'3, 184 lbs.
Schwindt is 6'2, 182 lbs.
Lundell is 6'1, 185 lbs

1) All 2 way C's with smooth but not elite speed/skating.
2) Big PKers with offensive upside, solid defensive IQ.
3) SHG potential
4) strong 5 on 5 game

I'm really impressed with our C depth in the pipeline, we're stocked well with 3/4 C's for next decade.

Really been paying attention to Sourdif right now, kid has the Nick Suzuki/Seth Jarvis player model. Quickly becoming one of my faves for his work ethic and versatility. Captains his team in Vancouver.
