Krygier set a new career high, with his fourth goal of the season, in a 5-2 win for #16 Michigan State over unranked Miami-Ohio.
He is now on a 3 game point streak, 2g 1a, in a special fifth year as a senior because of covid; he is playing his best hockey.
The 6'3 200 lb assistant captain defenseman is on Michigan State's number one pair. If he keeps playing like this, he may just earn my invitation to Checkers camp next season. He could possibly earn a spot on the team next year, or even with Greensville in the ECHL.

Haché jumped into the play and set up the overtime winner as Kingston defeated Sudbury 5-4.
Not sure what got in the water of the Panthers' 7th round pick defensive defensemen this weekend, but I like it!

#5 Michigan handed #9 Harvard their first loss this season last night. Samoskevich finished off a nice play.

Benning scored two last night. His first one was his best of the season so far.
If he keeps his good play up, I could see him in a Panthers uniform for the final 10 games of the regular season.
Defending NCAA champions #1 Denver look like a juggernaut again this year.
Devine also picked up an assist.

Muszelik allowed three goals on 25 shots last night in New Hampshire's loss to Holy Cross.

A nice shot by Arnsby for a goal in North Bay's 6-5 loss to Niagara. He seems to be getting less playing time lately, but most likely that is due to North Bay loading up for a run this year. Not only is he the captain, but he always seems to be in the right place at the right time with a good shot.

i'd be interested in your thoughts about Denisenko. Some still see him as a legit prospect. But he's not able to produce on a consistant basis in the AHL.

2 goals in 19 games this season. he's just the team's 9th best scorer.

is he back in Russia next year?

I doubt he goes back to Russia. He's getting good playing time in Charlotte, and he's got five points in his last five games. I think if the cap situation wasn't so messy in Florida, he'd have a callup by now.
Look what happened last time Florida chased a prospect out of town: Tippett it is now tearing it up in Philadelphia.

Tippett has 0 points in his last 5 games and is a -12 on the season.

He had a slow start but it seems like he's picking it up lately.

Lack of production is concerning but he played less than a season's worth of games over the last two seasons, so I hope we give him more time before writing him off. And since our prospect pool is so shallow I don't see the harm in keeping him instead of letting him walk.

Yes, he played less than half a season last year, as he broke his kneecap.

North Bay beats up Sudbury 7-4, as Arnsby scores. Again, right place right time with him.
The Captain has been very consistent this year, as he has 17 points in 24 games, including a mini two-game goal scoring streak. Not too shabby for the 12th last pick of the 2022 draft.

17 points in 24 games (0.71 ppg) is still below what I'd consider "potential NHL-er stats", but it should be noted that only three of those points are on the PP. Similar case with Josh Davies in the WHL (15 points in 20 games; 0.75 ppg) - the point total is not quite there but only one of his points came from the PP while he is 3+1 shorthanded. Are the guys just not good enough on the PP or would they thrive with more opportunity? Time will tell I guess.

Let's see how they do the rest of the year; we could really use some hits from the recent draft(s). Most of our 2022 group is currently in the "okay/just a little meh" area (Vilmanis has gone cold after his hot streak; 0 points and -6 over his past seven games), but then we knew they would be long-term projects given that our earliest pick came at 93.

Do we have anybody here who follows the European leagues? I'm particularly interested in Puutio (Liiga) and Jansson (Sweden2).

He definitely isn't blowing the stats off the page, but can't really complain for a 7th round pick. How do e doesn't get really any power play time. I think that's from North Bay being pretty loaded this year, and they just picked up some more high flying players. Just no room for him. Got to love that he's the captain of the first place team though.

You are right about Vilmanis. He has gone fairly ice cold lately. Like you stated though, he's a long-term project. Excited to go see him play in a couple of months against Arnsby.

I don't do European Leagues because then you get into the whole world of translating. I only know English, my French is garbage, so I just stick to what I know.

Breaking a seven games goalless streak, Vilmanis scored a tip-in goal in Sarnia's 6-5 overtime loss to Oshawa.

After going pointless in 8. Schwindt has a mini two-game game point streak going, as he scored in Mississauga's 4-2 loss to Hamilton.
Basically gifted that goal, but they all count.

#1 Denver had a 3-2 win over unranked Arizona State. Benning had a goal and an assist, both on the power play.

Unranked Wisconsin beat #5 Michigan 6-3. Lindmark had a goal and assist. The goal was an ENG. He was taking the faceoff, Michigan won in Wisconsin's end, so cleanly that he pulled the puck all the way back into his own empty net.

University of New Hampshire lost 5-2 to Boston College. Muszelik came into the game in relief, and proceeded to give up three goals on 15 shots.
