Hepo's importance to the organization has risen these past few weeks: definitely need to bulk up in offseason, but he will have a chance as an NHLer

He probably would've bulked up by now if that was in his list of areas of development. And then again, at this rate he's gonna get traded anyway.

A distinct possibility, given the way things are moving, but also given the fact that we are(unless some unforeseen miracle occurs) going to lose Marchment, and Acciari to UFA, will have to move Hornqvist(if possible), and Luostarinen is an RFA that we may or may not tender. A couple of the Hepos, Schwindts, Serrons, and Denisenko's of the world are gonna have to play....unless your pal Huby gets moved.:naughty:

Question guys... i'm a Habs fan. Heineman and Smilanic are ex-prospect of Panthers. Do you grade both B/B+ type of prospect??

I don't really know much about Heineman, but Smilanic I would say c+ or B- type, with b or B+ potential.
He's good down low with the puck. Plays in front of the net on the PP. He has good speed, and good passing. He's shot isn't much to write home about though. Neither is his play without the puck. He is kind of the type of player that waits for something to happen, versus making something happen.
After a white hot start this year in Quinnipiac, he hasn't done much at all lately. I want to say 2 goals in his last 13 or 14 games.

Really fizzled down the stretch in his junior year in a low-end competition wise ECAC division in NCAA.
My guess is he'll return to Quinnipiac for his senior season after the poor finale this year, but maybe Montreal has other thoughts.

Thanks for the report. So bottom 6 potential is realistic to him.

It was selection Sunday for the NCAA Frozen Four tournament this evening, both Michigan and Denver were 2 of the 24 teams selected.

In ex-Panther Prospect news, both Quinnipiac and Northeastern were also selected.

Serious question I thought of last night:

If the Panthers don't have enough prospects, would they have to share an AHL affiliate again with another team? Or would they just sign minor league free agents to fill the gaps?

they would just sign minor league free agents... and they do have enough prospects anyway
Yep:

F: Bowlby, Deni, Rubstov, Bunnamon, Dalpe (not a prospect), Noel, HUtsko, Schwindt, Sourdif
D: Uens, Ludvig, Priskie, Kiersed, Gildon,...
G: Sign a third on free agency, Mack Guzda

I also anticipate us signing a couple of undrafted free agents this month...

No, the guy had Vermont Catamounts in his name or something like that.
Also his Avatar picture was the Vermont logo, I believe Heimy didn't have an Avatar.
He kept us updated on Gildon back in his Vermont College days.
This mystery posters name has been bugging me for weeks, but I think I remember now… Acadmus.

He kept close tabs on Conner Brickley for us too.

Benning got an assist! Don't have a video though...
That kid is gonna be pretty good, I've thought so even before the team drafted him

The assist is hard to tell, but I think he just chipped the puck off the boards in his own Zone. It was picked up and scored. Either way, good to see him still producing.
Denver keeps dancing! Quarterfinal game is Saturday March 26th at 4 p.m. EST against Minnesota Duluth.

I had missed this entirely. Cool to see Ludvig practicing with the big club as he recuperates. Still have no idea about his injury but fingers crossed he can get some games in at the AHL or at least ECHL level while there is still some season left.

Samoskevich with an assist in Michigan's win in the first round of the Frozen Four. They will advance to next round. Game will be played at 6:30 p.m. EST on Sunday March 27th.
I would show the highlight of Samos assist, but I just learned that the NCAA has a rule that teams can only post four videos on Twitter from the game. Kind of silly.

I'm assuming Patrick Giles is the undrafted free agent from Boston College.
6'4, 212 lb is no joke! Sounds like he ended the year on a bit of a heater as well.
