Blue Jay Way..
After the Panthers game, I tuned in to the Merrimack Northeastern game with about four minutes to go in the second.
Only thing I noticed from Uens that frame, is one time he had to puck in his own Zone on the goal line. He passed it to his teammate at the far Blue Line. Teammate fumbled the pass.

What vision!

The Merrimack commentators are saying Northeastern will be a team to watch out for this tournament. Really praising Levi here. They are saying you get in a single elimination tournament, a hot goalie can win it all.

To finish up on that game:
In the third, Uens had a nice defensive play on a two on two. He took his guy, the puck carrier wide, and hit him in the corner. A scrum for the puck for 5 seconds and he left in possession.
Later in the period, he jumped in on a three on two. He sent a pass in front of the net, but it looked like either it bounced or his teammates miissed it.
The game was scoreless with nine seconds left, and Northeastern scored on a broken play in front of the Merrimac net. The problem, they didn't have Uens on ice. :sueme:

Warriors now finish 6th in Hockey Eas, and have to play Maine at home on Wednesday.

Do you think Uens gets a contract?

I wouldn't be surprised to see him come back for his senior season next year.

To add on that, I don't think any of the Panther NCAA prospects either: get a contract after the season, or leave their programs early.
Thanks big guy: I haven’t followed our prospects much this season other than the occasional stat watching!

I think towards the end of last season, but mainly this season, I fell in love with NCAA hockey.
Maybe it's the fact that the majority of the Florida Panther prospects are in the NCAA, but I can't get enough. This is some awesome style of hockey. It used to be wide open, Run and Gun, but not anymore. A lot of games are tight defensive hockey.
Not to mention this time of year it gets absolutely insane with all the conference tournaments and Frozen Four.

I've been doing some reading on NCAA hockey this afternoon. So many rules!

Did you know 20% of NHL players in 2000 played NCAA hockey. In 2019, that number was up to 33%.

USA Hockey's growth in the last 20 years has been significant. Every year, there's a big U.S. name at the draft challenging for 1st overall. And always several solid prospects in the top half of the 1st round. It wasn't like that 20 years ago and earlier.

went to the first monday of the beanpot last month. it was my first college game in maybe 20 years. paid $50 and sat against the glass. the pace and hitting was unreal. lots of skill, too. got home, caught the end of the 2nd game, then turned on a late NHL game. felt like i was watching it at half-speed.

First weekend of Conference Tournaments is done, and there are some Panther prospects whose seasons are over:

Wisconsin lost 4-2 last night to Notre Dame, the third game in their best-of-three quarterfinal series. That means Inamoto's (#133 '17) NCAA career is over. I believe there is a rule that if where playing during this covid pandemic, they can return as a fifth-year senior, which he did. He set a career high with 9 points this season, and was 5th in the nation in blocked shots. I doubt he would get a contract.

Lindmark (#137 '19) only played in 9 games this year, his last coming on November 27th. He only scored 1 goal in those games. I would think most certainly he will return next season to Wisconsin for his senior year.

Michigan State was swept in 2 games by the top-ranked team in the nation, Michigan. Krygier (#201 '18) I would think would return as a fifth-year senior next year. He also had a career high in points, with 11. A Florida native, born in Orlando in 2000.

OT with a couple Beauty points tonight in Charlotte's 5-2 win over Lehigh Valley. Goal and assist for him.

Glad to see Owen doing well down there, but he'll never have this much space and time to work with in the NHL.
Has anyone watched him since being sent down? Does he look decisive and quick? Or is relying on the sloppy defense and lack of systems that characterize the AHL?

Samoskevich with a deflection goal in Michigan's big 8-0 win over Michigan State to advance in the Big Ten playoffs.

That's a great goal.
Also can't help but notice the familiarity of a LHS playmaker like Hughes circling the left half-wall and feeding it to the bumper.

That was against Lehigh High Valley. They are in last place in the AHL's Eastern Conference. They are in management shambles right now. I wouldn't get too excited about these highlights.
